5) The main character of this story, Swift, has many important traits. Each of these traits guided the character to behave a certain way, tailoring the narrative around his decisions. For example, Swift is understanding, militaristic, old, traditional, independent thinking, responsible, and cool under stress. Since Swift was very traditional and independent in his thought process, he never truly trusted a machine to make choices for him. Rather than use Multivac, Swift simply allowed fate to decide his decisions by flipping a coin.
6) Setting in this story can be identified in the early introductory paragraphs. Specifically, the setting takes place inside Multivac itself.
