"Warm Bodies" is the debut novel of Isaac Marion that has now been made into a motion picture. The story is about R, a zombie unlike any other. Although R is a typical walking corpse that feeds off of the living he longs for something more than just brains and flesh. He actually questions what kind of job he had, who he loved, and what it was like to feel. R explains, "I want life and all its stupid sticky rawness," even though he does not remember what it was like to have a pulse. The story of R shows that no matter how bad the situation, people can change. R always knew he was different. It was only when he was eating the brains of a man named Perry Kelvin that he remembered the beauty life had to offer. It was at this moment when R saw memories of Perry's girlfriend, Julie. After experiencing the love that Perry felt for Julie R knew he had to protect her. He hid Julie in an airport and kept her safe from the rest of the zombies and in return Julie's wit and optimism began to change R. His hunger for flesh was replaced by an overwhelming desire to be more and leave this dying world behind. R learned how to communicate with Julie, understand her feelings, and fall a little more in love with her every day. R was challenged with an internal conflict of keeping Julie with him or letting her go back to where she came from. As much as he did not want her to leave, Julie put herself in a predicament that exposed herself to the other zombies in the airport. R knew the other zombies were not like him so he had no choice but to evade the danger in the airport and escort Julie back home. Little did they know, their stunt at the airport started a change among the zombies. The key to spark change within the zombies was R and Julie. Before them, there had never been any other incidents where a zombie and a human could live in harmony. The more zombies realized this, the more they too began to change and question their motives just as R
