The New Deal was a success to some of the Families and groups. The New Deal Was a success because it created millions of jobs all across the USA (Kantor Website). This Excerpt shows that even though it created millions of jobs it still failed its main goal. Another example of how it was a success is because it Helped with Relief, Reform, gave new roles to women and African Americans (Kantor Website). The New Deal did help and benefit the African American people and the Immigrants from other countries. The new deal over its many years had created over 32 government agencies that helped almost everyone in a way and still do today (Kantor Website). The New Deal even …show more content…
is still helping today because of these 32 Government agencies.
Many people thought that Roosevelt's New deal was the reason the United States got out of the depression but the only reason we got out of the depression was because of World War Two.
I do believe that the new deal did help the United States but failed to end its main goal which was to end the Great Depression. The New Deal was the most costly government program in American History and some of its projects were accused of wasting money (Kantor Website). This shows that not only did it fail to get the US out of the depression but it wasted money and was one of the most costly in US history. Some government programs did help some people but also hurt some people. National Industrial Recovery Act forced consumers to pay above-market prices for goods and services (https://www.cato.org/) This shows that it did help people but it also hurt people especially people who were struggleing from the begining of the
depression.
Some more examples of how it was a failure was that the New Deal taxes were major job destroyers during the 1930s, prolonging unemployment that averaged17% (https://www.cato.org/). The New deal did benefit some people from them having jobs but it also didn't help people who needed the jobs. Some government relief help required the person to have a income but how was someone supposed to get assistance if they can't find a job to begin with. Another example is that the New Deal revenue from excise taxes exceeded the combined revenue from both personal income taxes and corporate income taxes. (https://www.cato.org/). This Example shows that Taxes exceeded corporate Taxes which was a tremendous hike in dues to the American People.
The New Deal Did have its Benefit but also did not fail. Many people were fortunate for it and some were ashamed because it failed to help them. Many will argue that it was a success but many don't think about its main goal, to get the United States out of the depression. World War Two got the United States out of the Great Depression not The New Deal.
