However, the people who work night shifts or late hours seem to have been forgotten about. What happens when someone from Northern Virginia works a late shift in DC and does not get out until twelve-thirty? They will not be able to get home because the metro is closed. Of course they could take an Uber or a cab but the price for driving that distance would be outrageous. They would end up spending all the money they made in their shift on just getting home. Area. The metro should go back to its old hours which means that it would stay open until two o’clock rather than midnight. This will not only give college kids more time to go out and then return home, but also gives the night shift worker to finish and get home to their family before they go right back to work. New metro hours would not only make college more enjoyable for many, but it will also create more business, less stress on late night workers, and expand night life within the DC area.
