Watching Movie At Home Vs Movie Theater Essay
According to Tom Cruise, watching a movie in theaters is better than watching a movie at home. Tom Cruise, however, is wrong. Watching movies at home is better than watching movies in theaters. Movies are better at home because there are no previews, there is privacy, and they cost less.
Going to a movie theater is inferior to staying home because of all the previews, the people, and the expense. When you first walk into a theater and sit down, the lights dim and you settle in for the first glimpse of you comedy when you are surrounded by sounds of explosions. It is a preview for the latest action movie, followed by another fifteen minutes of other movie previews that are not your comedy. The previews leave nothing to the imagination, showing all the funny spots and important plot points, followed by a date that is no less than six

First, you get to go straight to the movie, no waiting through previews of movies you do not care about. There are no unknown people and in turn no weird habits to be on the look out for. You also get to pick the best seats in the house, no arguing with anyone. There is no pressure to look presentable since no one can see you. You could wear pajamas, have your hair up, and no makeup nonacid face no judgments. Finally, there is almost no cost to watching a movie at home. Nowadays you can rent almost all the newly released films from your local Redbox for one dollar and buy a box of popcorn for about $3. You can get everything you need for a great movie night for less than $5! With that math, you could have eight great movie nights for the cost of one sub-par movie date in the theaters. Overall the home viewing experience is far greater than a theater viewing

The second difference between the cinema venues is their environments. At the drive-in, you have the privacy of your own vehicle within which to enjoy the movie, converse with others within your vehicle, and/or use your mobile phone without disrupting the movie for other patrons. Now, it may be a matter of preference, but if being exposed to inconsiderate patrons and their etiquette, or lack thereof, is your idea of a good movie experience, then one might enjoy the movie theater.…

I have been enjoying going to the movies for over 20 and have never stopped loving the experience. I even remember the name of my first movie “The Land Before Time.” It was about a baby dinosaur that had lost his mother and had to make a great journey to the Great Valley to find his grandparents. In the end he does find them, after a great adventure with friends. I have always love movies that have a happy ending and also a little adventure. Another story that I read that had a happy ending was an essay called “Going to the Movies” by Susan Allen Toth 1980. In this essay she writes about what type of experiences she has with four different friends when she goes to the movies with them. Also, another essay I have read recently is called “A Century of Cinema” 1995…

Movie theaters are always overcrowded and you have to get there fifteen minutes early to get a good seat. Also, you always have to plan around the times that the theater chooses to show the movie you want to see. Sometimes this can be a hassle because there are other things you need to be doing at the time they choose to play the movie. Once you get there, you have to pay outrageous prices for tickets. Then, if you want to go to the concession stand for a snack and drink you might as well bring an extra twenty dollars. Once you get to your seat, there are always people who disturb you throughout the movie. There are always people who have to get up to use the restroom and block your view of the screen in the process. Normally at least one person forgets to silence their cell phone and you are constantly reminded when their phone goes off every five minutes. Another thing is, everyone knows the pain of having to get up from the seat in the theater and go to the restroom. You are always paranoid that you will miss something vital in the movie, you trip over people, run into the unclean restroom, and rush back to your seat. After the movie is over, you always have to wait forever to get out of the parking lot because everyone seems to get out at the same time. This is very time consuming most of the time and causes…

    What Makes a Great Movie

Films have to be understandable, provide insight into all character's personalities and roles, and quotable. They can be something that sparks laughter, helps us grow, terrifies, or simply entertains. We do not want to have our time wasted or feel that seeing this movie could have hurt us by hindering us from another more important or enjoyable activity. Both of us enjoy movies with an exciting storyline or seriously cool visual effects. A movie does nothing for the audience if the acting is amazing but the story is lost in the first five minutes. Good acting is much appreciated but with out a decent plot, it really has no true impact. Furthermore, movies will generate particular moods and feelings and certain films are more appropriate for, lets say, dates than for a guy's night out.…

I am the type of person, where I like to go out for the experience and building memories. Life keeps moving every second, memories and pictures are all we have to remember the past experiences. What we done in the past and who we did it with. So building memories and taking a lot of pictures is what I like to do. I also like watching movies in the theatre because it seems twice as better. The picture is better and bigger, there are more and better surround sounds. Mainly, there are no distractions in the theatre, especially if you have a lot of people living with you in your house. The kids can also be a main distraction too. Plus going out about once a week keeps a person sane rather than staying in the house all the time. That can drive a person crazy.…
