We All Have Experienced an Embarrassing Moment in Our Life, Such as Fall Down from the Chair, Call Some One Wrong Name, and Pee in Pant. I This Moments, We Will Be Ashamed or Laugh in the End. for Me, I Will Laugh,
Some of the embarrassing moments in our lives are worth recalling while others are so disgusting that no one would wish to recall or even be associated with them. That day will forever remain in my mind. I can recall with nostalgia an incident, which took place five years ago. Back at home, my parents would reward my brother and me for the good grades we scored in the term papers. On this one occasion, my mum rewarded me with two hundred dollars for the good grades in the end year papers. In order have fun; I decided to invite my best friends to a hotel for lunch. On arrival at the hotel, I told my friends to order as much as they wished to take. One after another, they placed their orders and immediately the waiters swung into action and started serving us. The food was very delicious just as the services. We all took to eating, talking and laughing at the jokes we made back at school. On finishing the food, the bill was placed on the table. I hurriedly reached my pocket to get the money but to my utter disbelief, the two hundred dollars were missing. After a thorough check in all my pockets, it dawned on me that I had left my dollars in my bedroom. I had been filled with joy and excitement when my mother gave me that I did not remember to put it in my purse. On waking up in the morning, I was late and so I prepared myself in a hurry leaving the money on the table inside my room. I thought of borrowing money from my comrades but none of them could offer any help. They did not carry any money, as we would be picked by the school bus from home in the morning and only come back in the evening with the same. I approached the waiter and narrated my ordeal but she was fuming with rage. She ordered me to explain to the director. The hotel director was a kind and understanding man. He listened to my rather unfortunate ordeal and allowed me to rush home and get the money but had to leave my school identity card with him just in case I did not to come back. I hurriedly went

We got up and had breakfast and then took a bus to the airport. My parents were wondering if the lady named Lily would get the baskets to us on time before we left the country to go back home. And there she was riding in a cab with the window down and the baskets out the window tied down with a string. So my dad asked the lady how much she wanted for the baskets and she said 100 yuans. But over here it is like sixteen dollars. So the lady was so happy and so grateful for the…

The most humorous details are the different experiences I had commuting to and from work. One day I was almost robbed on my way to work. Some stranger came up to me and asked me if my purse was expensive. Originally, I didn't respond to him, but then he persisted to grab my purse. Then a group of older men attacked him and I got my purse back and the thief got arrested.…

Diana Ahmad in The Opium Debate and Chinese Exclusion Laws in the Nineteenth-Century American West (University of Nevada Press, 2007) argues that in addition to the traditional explanations for the Chinese Exclusion Act, (economic, political and more recently, prostitution) smoking opium was part of the reason many Anglo-Americans pushed for Chinese exclusion. Ahmad also distinguishes smoking-opium and medicinal-opium as two separate entities, claiming that it was the smoking variety that offended the moral character of Anglo-Americans.…

Upon my debarkation in the United States, I had the window seat and I awoke to the scene of our plane landing in JFK Airport. My mother and I walked off the plane and over towards a currency exchange booth to trade in our paltry of pesos for American dollars. As a young girl I did not quite yet understand why she suddenly appeared sickly while tucking away a twenty and four singles into her bra. It wasn't until years later when I came to the realization that she was truly exchanging her life for my own ambiguous future and education at that booth. We met up with my father and younger brother in the parking lot and began our walk, our march into the foggy country that awaited…

The first stop on senior trip was the beach. It was the perfect first stop because we had been cooped up in the bus for 30 hours. The sun was shinning and we were ready to explore our summer playground. The morning seemed as though it was going to be a normal day; that is until my friend Stephen Hyer had an idea. He wouldn’t tell us where or what we were doing; he only said it was going to be awesome. We all ran into a hotel bathroom and then he told us his plan to make duct tape Speedos. He had brought regular underwear for us to put tape on. Then he put out the tape. There was red, blue, green, zebra print, and others. In the midst of us helping each other create our bathing suits, a little kid came in and went to the bathroom. I assume that he had seen far worse because he stared for a second and then did his business and left like nothing ever happened. The thirty year old man however walked in, stared at us, we froze, then he left very quickly. Stephen felt obligated to yell after him, “Wait, we can make room!”…

Experiences of failure throughout life can be challenging to overcome. But later on, as you learn from those, they can be the building blocks of achieving success later on in life. An example of going through failure and learning from the experience to be able to work harder and find success was the soccer season of my freshman. During my season of club soccer, my team played in Austin Labor Day Cup tournament in Pflugerville, Texas in the fall of my freshman year of high school. It was the first big tournament of the year for our club team because we were placed in a group much more competitive than the others. We also played in a year up in division so we knew to come very well prepared before we made the hour long trip to the Austin area that weekend. The week before, we had trained all week long in the heat, so to come down to Austin and not be successful would be a huge disappointment to not only the team but the supporters of the club and parents. But we were too psyched for the big week ahead.…

Today is the first day of my SPM examination. I had promised to my dad to get straight A’s in all subjects and the X-Box 360 was on the line, so that I could not afford to miss my Bahasa Melayu exam or fail to sit for it. After taking my super fast shower, I ran downstairs and skipped several staircases. Luck was not with me, I accidently had kicked my fat cat which was lying on the last staircase. I fell hard on the floor and my face was just a millimeter away from my father’s favourite solid metal Liberty Statue floor lamp which he had bought last year on our previous family trip. I was nearly sent to the hospital than getting myself to school. My knees and elbows were numbed and hurt. I ignored the pain and quickly got back on my foot. My mum was smiling cynically at me as she was used to my attitude of being late to school. Poor Jinggo was running hysterically and hiding under the dining chair taking his cover for any incoming assault he may receive. He must be regretted of mistakenly choosing a wrong spot in the house to relax himself this morning. It was not his first time, perhaps he really loves the spot even it came with a high risk warning sign on it.…
