The World Health Organization (WHO) has estimated that close to three million people in Europe and the US are addicted to some type of opiate, and in the US alone, over two million people are addicted to prescription opiates, and opiates make up 83 percent of admissions for intravenous drug addictions. This has given rise to many treatment methods to address opiate abuse. Two of those treatment methods are Methadone Maintenance Treatment or MMT and Rapid Opioid Detoxification ROD. While ROD is dangerous, and costly with few lasting results, Methadone Maintenance Treatment offers opiate addicts a safer, less expensive alternative with high success rates. While the argument persists that MMT programs are allowing the addict to trade one substance for another, the means of this justifies the end, and offers the addict a way out.…
The environment offers essential resources, like nutrients that are recycled to keep soil fertile, biological services, such as providing the global pollination of crops that we depend on for food, and natural improvements for our quality of life, such as controlling the chemistry of the atmosphere. These resources are vital to the survival of the human race, and are often taken for granted. Humans are constantly using these products and amenities to assist in their lives and consequently creating wastes that are put back into their surroundings. All people have the potential to impact the environment, both positively and negatively, directly affecting their resources available to them and the quality of life for themselves and all people on…
Over the years people have lost more and more care for the Earth and it is suffering the consequences of this neglect. A bad stewardship of the planet makes it respond with problems such as Air Pollution, Global warming, Water Pollution, overpopulation, etc. We think that as stewards of the planet we have the rights to do what we want with it, but this is damaging it, and us as well. We are the only ones here with the power and capability to change this, and there are certain estrategies that we can implement in order to make a positive impact on our Earth's water, land, and air.…
Our environment first started when God went to work and put his plan into action. “In the beginning God created the Heavens and Earth.”(Genesis 1) For six days God was at work creating day and night, land and water, vegetation, all living beast of the earth, and then “God made mankind in his own image.”(v.27) God made us to care for his masterpiece, the environment. The environment was created for man by God, and man should in return care for God’s creation in the most outstanding and high respect.…

For many years, people have satisfied their needs, without showing any concerns or awareness about the care of our planet, the way we treat our environment is described by some, like murder. Thus, it is natural to ask ourselves if the environment should be protected because and only because human livelihoods depend upon it or the opposite, that us, humans, exist only because of our planet, and that we should do all our best to save the air we breathe, the ground we live on, the entire environment that surrounds us. First of all the study will begin by what the environment is through time, then it will show the obvious relationship between environment and human beings and its issues, and it will finish by the question of ethics about human and nature.…

There are many problems facing the world today; serious problems that could have grave consequences if not resolved within the next few years. However, there is one looming problem, which if not resolved, could make all other problems obsolete; the way that we take care of the environment, or rather the way we neglect it. The environment is a necessity for everyday life. Without the environment, we would die. How we chose to end global warming is interesting, because much of our daily uses affect the environment.…
Protecting our environment allows us to live free of any pollutants or hazards that we might introduce into our environment. That leaves us free to try to survive in the "natural" environment which includes things like sharks, poisonous insects and reptiles, pollen, poisonous plants, viruses, bacteria, thousands of parasites, and other animals that compete for food and land. Protecting the environment allows future generations of humans to grow and live without having to deal with anything we've done to contaminate the environment in which we do live and they will live, protecting the environment is the best way to protect our own selves against diseases.…
