Whaling Persuasive Speech

In today’s society there has been many controversial agreements upon whaling, scientific whaling, or whale killing, these are all words people use today to describe the actions many countries have been doing for over a millennium. Throughout history and across hemispheres and counties that did not interact, whaled. Across the board you see propaganda upon the ideas of whaling and how it should be ultimately ended; they are shown through various pictures, videos and even friendly video games to lure children in and influence the public. Furthermore this essay will show the different sides and ultimately have the reader decide if whaling should be legal or illegal to the countries still whaling in this present time.
To begin with, hunting has always started with the key idea to eat,whaling goes hand in hand with this. Whaling started off as a mean of food but always not wasting the whale for discarding but using the oil from the blubber. Killing just one whale can feed many people and can be vastly shared however, there are many health hazards that have been scientifically proven. Throughout the history of whaling we've seen whaling centered on the northern part of the world which the indigenous people feel its too cold to farm so whale come in to every meal. Whale meat provides energy and vitamins A, C and D, and is rich in niacin, iron and protein. In the Faroe Islands in a town called Torshavn they use whale meat just as we use beef. They can feed a whole town of 20,000 off a pilot whale. There is so much whaling going around “how are you suppose to turn down a free meal?”(Hesselager O’Barry). The sense here is that whale meat just goes around and comes around. Once the whale is killed nothing goes to waste not even the bones
