Testing does not show how a student actually thinks, it shows how well the student can test. Tests are suppose to make students take a minute and really think, as in critical thinking. However, most standard tests in America are multiple choice. These multiple choice tests do not actually let the test taker think or evaluate the question or problem. Standardized testing also defines students. By receiving a low test score it put the student in a “I am dumb” stance. Students are being define by how high of a score they receive on a test. Students with high test scores are seen as studious or smart, but the students receiving low score are seen as not ready or unprepared for life. Life is not about tests. One does not go through life taking tests to make everyday
