Teenagers are expected by society to follow the rules that were made almost 300 years ago. Our founding fathers had no idea how technology and people would advance in the future; teenagers are aware of this. In order for teenagers to have a voice they should be allowed to vote. Teenagers are responsible enough to make decisions for our country and shouldn’t have their ideas disregarded. Young people are already participating in politics. We should consider that teenagers are capable enough to make decisions for our future. Most teenagers are already engaging in politics and in some cases running for governor. Most adults won’t take teenagers political views seriously because our society believes seniority is more keen. Just because younger people are still receiving education does not mean we don't know how to have our own opinions.
Why we shouldn't lower the voting age. While some of us support lowering the voting age some do not. Some people think there is no reason we need to lower the voting age. The last time the voting age was changed was because 18 year old boys were being sent to war. It was unfair that these boys were not allowed to vote but could be sent overseas to fight battles. Some think that maybe we are giving these kids too much responsibility and forcing them to grow up too quickly. These kids should be focusing on school work instead of trying to get engaged in
