It took place in the garden of Eden while Adam was engaged in the enterprise that was given to him by God. In Genesis 2:15 states, “And the Lord God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it.” So as Chou states, “and sin happened in the work world.” We see here that there is a barrier-free of communication left in creation, but there are some barriers that are intended, one would be the serpent who demonstrated the guile toward Eve and then how Adam showed guile to his Creator. There is also a loophole that was introduced by the serpent that resulted in a world full of excuses that Christians use today. Just as James 3:2 states, “For in many things we offend all. If any man offends not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body.” Then there is God’s curse that Chou states, “toil for the serpent (crawling on his stomach), toil for the woman (pain and danger in childbirth), and toil for the worker (a working environment which now required relentless, strategic, frustrating effort).

God gave Adam and Eve everything they needed to survive in the garden of Eden. He made the conditions to be comfortable. They had food to sustain life directly and provided a way that Adam and Eve would have food available to them in abundance. Genesis 2:16 says, “And the LORD God commanded the man, “You are free to eat from any tree in the garden”.” God provided all the resources they would need. The fall has caused the ground to be cursed. Then the abundance became scarce. Life has begun to become a struggle. It was hard to get what you needed and keep it. This also started the competition for domestic leadership, caused by genetic imbalances. The world is still dealing with these affects today. We must remember that God is totally sufficient and only He can restore the abundance and cooperation while having a relationship with Him.
