What Are the Factors People Get Involve in Scam?
Scam is a fraudulent scheme performed by a dishonest individual, group, or company in an attempt to obtain money or something valuable. The existence of scam is against the law and regulation. It traditionally resided in confidence tricks, where an individual would misrepresent themselves as someone with skill or authority such as a doctor, lawyer, and investor. With the tools like the internet, there are hundreds of thousands of people who become victims of fraud every year in the new forms of scams emerged such as lottery scams, scam baiting, email spoofing, phishing, or request for helps. Everyone is subject to fraudulent schemes and con games. Younger people seem to be the first target, perhaps because they are materialistic and individualistic, desperate for job opportunities and lack of alert.
In this generation, people increasingly become materialistic. People have insatiable desire to get material enjoyment and also eager to have beautiful physical appearance and body figure. Frauds are good opportunist, they saw people’s vanity, fondness to show off, and pursuit of material and appearance. So, they produce fake products and sell it cheaper than the market price to cheat people. These fake products may also bring serious side-effect to people’s health. In Honolulu, a Chinese national was arrested when he travelled from China to United States to meet people who interested about his diet pills. He manufactured diet pills and sold it cheaper on internet. Therefore, it causes many greedy and ignorant people to seek small gains but incur big losses in the end. Buyers have negative effects after having the diet pills such like heart palpitations, numbness in their arm and headaches.
Individualistic is a kind of natural behavior occurring in human being with some certain situations. When there is a bad economic, people will generally lose their confidence to purchase goods and services because the product in market are too expensive and they are unable to
