Also both documents stated the people’s dissatisfactions with the increase high of taxes and taxation without representation. Furthermore, both documents had similar demands, such as liberty, fair taxation, change in government where the power rest with the people, and freedom of religion. However, the creators of such documents also did have their major differences, the thirteen colonies wanted to create its own and separate government from that of the British Crown, due to harsh military rule. Unlike many other declaration of independence documents which are drafter before or at the beginning of any revolution, the Mexican Declaration was drafter after the war was over on September 28th, 1821 a day after the war was officially over. Nevertheless, as short as it may be the Mexican declaration stated similar dissatisfactions with current government in this case the Spanish Monarchy. Nonetheless, the Mexican Declaration similarly to that of the United States focused on liberty and equality from stating that “The Mexican Nation that, for three hundred years, has neither had its own will nor free use of the its voice, comes out today from the oppression in which it has lived” (1821).
However, unlike the American declaration which was too announced to the world why it was at the moment entangled in war with its Monarchy and to gain support from them as well. The Mexican document was to let the world know that it was already an independent country, which also stated the reasons they broke away from Spanish rule.
