Youth runaways is a problem in juveniles that can lead into delinquency far beyond not coming home. Running away at a young age if frequently or for short trips or long periods of times should try to be stopped and reported and addressed immediately because if an adult does not know the whereabouts of the child they cannot provide for the wellbeing of the youth.Juveniles usually runaway to escape from something. One of the major reasons and concerns are they want to escape from family problems. There tends to be family violence in the home of either physical or mental abuse. Sexual molestation from a family member or someone around them can also trigger a teen runaway. Or failure to give attention to the youth as now a days parents might be at work all the time and do not provide adequate attention to the youth with results in a feeling of neglect.
Another reason for juveniles wanting to runaway is that they they want to pursue something such as drugs or alcohol. Today social media, radio and television influence the youth by showing rappers and drug dealers to having easy money and fame. Commercials show that smoking and drinking might make you look cool. Teens see allot of things on social media and are influenced by everything around them and some actions which they call normal might not be accepted in their household. Another reason that might lead to a runaway is a forbid relationship. Adolescents are in their peak of emotions and mentally are not in love but want to have a feeling of being loved. But a sense of belonging in a group away from home is another reason a youth might want to run
