Many in today’s society do not agree with the idea of polygamy, but 2,500 years ago polygamy was a found in most places all over the world. Although older day polygamy and modern day polygamy have many similarities, places and religions that accept polygamy, restrictions and the types of polygamy have changed over the years.
Polygamy is the practice or custom of having more than one wife or husband at the same time. Polygamy dates back to a long time ago, since this has been practiced for many centuries by cultures from all over the world.
