of Joseph Stalin’s main goals was to shape the minds of children. Children were taught that the state has the final say, not your parents and only learned about the good things Stalin was doing for the Soviet Union. Hitler was the totalitarian leader of Germany. Germany was struggling after World War One and Hitler saw this as a time to take control. Hitler became Chancellor of Germany in 1933. The way Hitler ruled was influenced by the Mein Kampf. The Mein Kampf was the book that Hitler wrote that became the basic book for Nazi goals. Some of his ideas included in this book were that Germans belonged to a master race, enemies were the Jews and ethnic outsiders and that in order to be great again Germany must expand. When Hitler became Chancellor, he suspended civil rights, destroyed socialist and communist parties, executed Nazi’s he felt were disloyal and demanded unquestionable obedience. One of Hitlers main goals was to indoctrinate the youth to build the future. He urged young Germans to destroy enemies with no mercy and to pledge absolute loyalty to Germany. Joseph Stalin and Hitler both came to power after World War One.
They both believed in controlling all aspects of the people’s lives, for example, education, government, and religion. In both countries the citizens were expected to have complete loyalty to the state and their leader. These two leaders, both used terror as a way to keep control, they both used secret police and imprisoned anyone they felt threatened by. Another way Joseph Stalin and Hitler are similar is that they both focused on educating the youth. In schools the books were edited to only show what Hitler and Stalin wanted them to learn. Joseph Stalin and Hitler were also different in many ways. Joseph Stalin ruled under Communism while Hitler ruled under fascism. Another way they in which they are different is that Hitlers goal was to kill a whole “inferior” race while Stalin did not see himself in a “superior”
race. In Conclusion, Joseph Stalin and Hitler were different and similar in many ways. They both acted as totalitarian leaders and ruled Germany and Russia after World War One. They also were different because Hitler ruled under fascism while Stalin ruled under Communism. Overall Hitler and Stalin affected their countries in positive and negative ways.
