There are many differences and similarites between Mexico City now and when it was called Tenochtitlan. One difference is population. In Tenochtitlan, there were 100,000 people living the opposed to the eight million they have now. Another difference was mode of transportation. Tenochtitlan had canals and recieved horses right before the fall of the Aztec Empire and now they have cars. The ruins have become, well ruined, since they were weathered down and whatnot. Their lifestyle in general seems to be more modernized now. Last difference is that Tenochtitlan was an empire and now Mexico City has a democracy.…
China and Mesopotamia are alike in a lot of ways. Both of the civilizations started on or by a river. This helped with the starting of their trade, and helped them get off the ground and running. They both also created many extraordinary inventions. The Mesopotamians invented the first ever wheel. This made it easier to move things around faster. As time went on the wheel got bigger and better and made things a lot easier. Mesopotamia also invented the first every calendar. This was a very basic calendar but it made time keeping easier. China invented the Silk Road. This was a huge trading route that went through almost every civilization. This made is extremely easy to trade which they could not live without. It was created during the Han Dynasty. Another similarity of the two is that they both made a way to write. Mesopotamia created the first ever form of writing during 3500 BCE. The writings were simple pictures which represented an object or idea. They used clay to draw the picture because that’s all they had. China also created a type of writing. Portland and Atlanta are very much opposites in a list that can go on and on but they also have some similarities. For instance Portland has a very large, and fast growing population. People are just coming to the city to see the nice environmental areas but also the city itself, Atlanta as well has a very large fast growing population and it's making the city want to expand and Portland would like to as well. Another similarity is how the urban sprawl is taking over suburbs and places where is was natural and green, this is mostly because of the population like I was explaining earlier…
There are many similarities in the election process used in the United States of America and Mexico. There are also a number of differences. Most people think of Mexico as a country fueled by corruption. Throughout history, women have been notably resilient and powerful in overcoming all forms of inequity. As the population exponentially grows, women make up almost half of the workforce, they are the sole or co-breadwinner in American families, and they receive more college degrees than men. Yet, women continue to earn significantly less than men in their careers. The wage gap is the ratio earnings of women and men within the economy as a whole. Sociologists have studied that the persistence of the wage gap over time plays in the role of discrimination. Is there discrimination within the workplace? An estimate of 38% wage gap still remains unexplained when factors reasonably thought to affect the gap are controlled for: hiring, firing, promotions,…
