What makes a serial killer tick? A lot of psychological problems that most serial killers experience are some type of traumatizing event that happened to them or that they witnessed when they were younger.
Witnessing violence for some people can have deep effects. Some murderers claim that their exposure to violent events ignited their thirst for blood. But even truly traumatizing incidents doesn’t affect everyone the same way because not all abused children grow up to be murderers some grow up to be writers, law enforcement or someone completely normal. …show more content…
Now there are many signs some children show at an early age of being psychotic, such as Animal cruelty, Pyromania, Bed wetting, and Isolation.
Growing up Jeffrey Dahmer would drive along backroads and hit small woodland creatures stop to pick them up and walk into the woods to gut them open and then eat them. Dahmer would also cut the heads off dogs and put them on a stick in his backyard. Animal cruelty is a disturbing red flag so if you’re child is doing so then one should get that checked out. For serial killers animals are often used as a tool for practice for killing humans. Torturing humans and setting fires usually leads to crimes against humans unless somehow the person gets help and the pattern is
broken.
Joseph Kallinger loved to set fires, he loved to watch houses burn as it gave him a feeling of ecstasy that nothing else can. Kallinger was responsible for more than 1,411 fires. Pyromania is usually a sexual release for killers, the destruction of homes and property feed their sick need to destroy other human beings, because serial killers only view humans as nothing more than an object it is fine for them to transition from pyromania to murder.
Bed wetting is another big sign, but it’s not the usual bed wetting where seven years old wet their beds because they couldn’t make it to the bathroom in time. N this is different this is young adults wetting their bed while still being a teenager or even in their early twenties is a big sign something is wrong. Estimates show that over 60% of killers wet their bed way past adolescent years. One serial killer in particular Kenneth Bianchi spent many nights marinating in wet bed sheets. Ted Bundy also had problems with wetting his bed way past the age of 14.
Ted Bundy being one of the world's most infamous serial killers killed over 40 women across the U.S. Escaping prison twice only to be caught in Florida for speeding Bundy might not have been caught if he wasn’t such a poor driver, which is how he was arrested the first time before breaking out of jail and both times they linked him to different murders. Bundy was adopted when he was younger which is another sign of a serial killer most were adopted. Bundy had troubles wetting his bed until he was 18 years of age, after high school Bundy went on to law school to become a lawyer.
Bundy was known as the unexpected killer because everyone he knew never could of imagined that the Charming, handsome, intelligent, charismatic young man they knew would be the one who killed over 40 women. Ted used his good looks and charming personality to charm the women he murdered into going with him. He would sometimes use a ruse of a broken arm or leg to get the women walk to his car with him and once there he would kidnap them. To make this easier Bundy cut the passenger seat of his car out of his volkswagen so he could subdue and handcuff them women to the floor without anyone else seeing them.
Bundy was a highly intelligent man and no one that knew him suspected of him being a killer of all those women. Bundy had a girlfriend and many friends to them he seemed so normal but in reality he was a deeply troubled young man. After he was arrested his friends tried to raise enough money for his bail until it was clear that he was the killer. Bundy was tried and found guilty for the murders of over 40 women. Bundy was sentenced to the death penalty solely for the crimes he committed in Florida and executed in 1989.
