First, Anne’s family got the news that the Nazis were going to kill all jews that were in Germany. They were scared and startled of all of this so Edith Frank, her mother, Otto Frank, her father, and Margot Frank, her sister, began moving to Netherlands. They were safe and sound at last. Someone has told the police where they were hiding. On August 4th, 1944, they were arrested. Later they are sent to Camp Westerbork, a concentration camp. On the train to Camp Westerbork, Anne’s family felt free, even though the doors were bolted shut. Outside from the window, there were meadows, fields and villages were flying by. According to Otto Frank, “Anne wouldn’t move from the window.”. When they were at Camp Westerbork, they were sent to do punishment barracks. Anne had to break open batteries which was very dirty. It gave off a dust that was very hard to breathe in. They could still talk to each other while working. After going to Camp Westerbork, they had to go to Camp Auschwitz. They went on another train. The trip was 3 days long. There was a horrible stench that came from a bucket that the prisoners had to use the bathroom in. A man died, a grandmother and children said they couldn’t take it anymore. At 2 AM, the doors opened, the police told the prisoners to stand in 2 lines for the women and men. The police walked up and down the lines, one hand with a whip, the other hand, walking a dog. This was the last time that Otto was going to see his wife and children. The children, elderly, and the sick were sent to the gas chambers but the group was sent to the barracks again. Later on, we hear that most of the group died. Anne died of typhus in March 1945 along with her sister, Margot. Later, Otto Frank gets home after the camp is liberated by the british force. He finds Anne’s diary from Miep Gies. He knows Anne wanted to be a writer or a journalist so he publishes Anne’s diary in dutch, but now it’s sold all over the
