What Does It Mean to Be a True Hero? The dictionary defines a hero as "a man of distinguished courage or ability, admired for his brave deeds and noble qualities," but not everyone chooses to interpret a hero this way. There are many ways someone can choose to see a hero as, such as soldier, superhero, or just an ordinary person who chooses to do a heroic act. In my opinion, a hero is someone who goes out of his or her way to make a significant and positive difference in someone 's life, a person who will do the right thing even when it does not necessarily benefit themselves. There is no one person or opinion that can decide what actually makes a true hero, but to some people, a hero has superpowers or has done a heroic act at least once in their life.
