What Does It Mean To Be In High School
Age has nothing to do with love, in love there is no age. Falling in love at sixteen or twenty five makes no difference. Love is everywhere, especially roaming the hallways (Personification) of high school. Love at first sight in the hallway or classes exists, just ask all the couples who are deeply in love with each other. Who said you cannot find your true love at the age of sixteen or even fourteen? (Rhetorical Question) Anyone who argues that is obviously bitter high school did not turn out the way they expected it to. I mean think about it, high school is the best environment to find your soulmate. You are bound to be together for five days out of the week, for seven hours a day; not including after school hours or weekends. Think about …show more content…

Choose the one who is worth losing sleep, because you stay up late texting or facetiming all night. Choose the one who is worth failing classes for because you two hang out every second, every minute and every hour of the day. Choose the one who is right for you, after all, you two will be together forever and ever. (Anaphora) I feel bad for all of those graduates who did not get the chance to fall in love during their four years of high school. Instead of finding the right one, they spent hours studying, being with their friends and hours practicing their favorite sport. They cared too much about their education and trying to get into their top college instead of trying to find their true love. They never had the chance to feel what true high school love really feels like. The longer you are together the better (Isocolon). No one wants to marry someone they have met at the age of twenty …show more content…

They are patiently waiting for someone to bump into them as they are flying to their next class before the bell rings. They are patiently waiting for someone to bump into them so hard, that they will drop their books and the person who bumped into them will pick up them up and they will fall deeply in love with each other. What better way is there to meet the one you are going to spend the rest of your life? Parents and teachers need to open their eyes and realize that high school is all about love. They would be doing us a favor by supporting what we really want to get out of high school. Science class should be all about learning the chemistry of love not that the mitochondria is the powerhouse of the cell, which is extremely useless. We should be devoting our knowledge and time into how to get the cute boy or girl you almost bumped into as you rushed to class. Teen love is all around us, if only you will open your eyes and realize it! It is the best type of love you can ever experience. High school love is so

During the 1800’s, one of America’s biggest issues was slavery. Most people didn’t have a problem with it and agreed with it, but there was also groups called abolitionists, that greatly disliked slavery and devoted their lives to try to put an end to it. Slaves were denied basic human rights that people take for granted everyday, and were treated unfairly. Rights that I believe everyone should be able to have were denied to slaves. Some of these rights include: the ability to have a legal marriage, own property, eat the fruit from the crops they were raising, and they didn’t have much of a say in whether or not their family would stay together or not.…

Analysis of the character of the main protagonist, Charlie Gordon, in the beginning of the novel entitled Flowers for Algernon, shows a complicated person with interesting personality and physical characteristics. He is a thirty-two year old man who is mentally retarded. He has difficulty spelling and using correct grammar and understanding a lot of what is happening to him. However, he is also a very determined individual. He wants to try to change. He hopes to become more intelligent and to be able to solve problems. For example, he kept on trying to beat Algernon, the smart mouse, in the maze race. I also learned early in the novel that Charlie is honest. He said that he would not make up lies about people. But, that sometimes means that Charlie is not very imaginative or able to fantasize. He can't think of something if it is not the absolute truth. He is a very trusting person, who does not steal or do unlawful actions. Charlie feels frustrated because he feels excluded by other people. He wants to fit in. He said, "I want to be smart so I can have lots of friends." Charlie is also forgetful. He told Dr Strauss that he did not remember how he found the Beekman School. He is very friendly and kind toward other people. He never yells at people or gets mad at them. No matter what happens, Charlie is highly motivated. He really wants to learn new information and skills. In summary, I think that Charlie is a good man who is easy to get to know and…

“I want to see the beauty. In the ugly, in the sink, the suffering, in the daily, in all the days before I die, the moments before I sleep.” (goodreads.com) High school is expressed as the best of times, but also as the worst of times. Regardless of whether we desire to or not, it is a part of our lives we will remember forever. It is when we start to figure out who we are, and decide the life we want to live. While we go through this significant phase of our life, it is essential that we appreciate it to the best of our ability by focusing on living in the moment, taking the time to enjoy ourselves and helping others enjoy themselves too.…

Early love affair or teenage love is a certain stage in our life when we think that everyone seems to want love. What Highschool Is

Theodore R. Sizer in his essay "What High School Is" begins with an illustration, a detailed account of the opening of the day at a high school, following one student named Mark, sixteen years of age, as he arrives at school, greets his friends, and goes to class. This section is a rather dry recitation of his schedule on this particular day, with some vivid descriptions of the classes, the other students, and the different elements of the school day. This entire section runs four and a half pages and serves as the introduction to the entire essay. This is a daring and not entirely satisfactory approach. There is nothing ahead of this description to assure the reader that the entire essay will not consist of this detailing of one student's day, though in fact the essay has something else in mind if it can hold the attention of the reader until the author gets to it. He might have offered some more traditional introductory remarks to indicate that he has a purpose in telling this lengthy story, which would gain him mileage with many, but instead he just launched into it and continues through to the end of the day.…

Infatuation can be defined as “puppy love” or “the temporary love of an adolescent” (Word Net). Therefore, this concludes that many adolescent relationships are short-lived. For instance, William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet is frequently called a true love story, but really, the two protagonists, Romeo and Juliet are merely infatuated. First, in most relationships, true love takes time to develop, and Romeo and Juliet only know each other for a couple of days when they decide to marry. Furthermore, Romeo and Juliet constantly refer to each other’s looks, rather than to their true personality, which is a clear sign that they are simply infatuated. Finally, Romeo and Juliet are too young and naïve for their bond to be…

After completing the survey for my economics course it gave me a career field that I should consider joining based off of my answers to the survey. The field I was given was investigative. I agree with choice because I love to solve puzzles and work with things that makes me have to think to figure it out. Also, the investigative field is a good fit for me because the jobs that are involved in this field involve math which is one of my favorite subjects whether it be engineering or computer programming. Plus, with it being investigative I am not limited by the math field because I could also work in the medical field by being a doctor trying to find a malignant tumor. The two career paths I have decided on that stem from this career category would have to be computer hardware engineer or being a biomedical engineer.…

In agreement with Grainer’s claim, teenagers do not know what love is. William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet gives a negative connotation of young love. He makes it clear that at such a young age, what teenagers think is love, can make them do dangerous things. Teenagers cannot comprehend what love is because there is flood of hormones fogging their minds.…

High school is a different experience for everyone. The first three years really blend together and do not seem important, but senior year is completely different. Freshman year was full of confusion, learning an array of new things. Sophomore year was where life started to get fun and you “belonged” in the high school. Junior year was where you see the little light at the end of the tunnel, but it was filled with anxiety and frustration. Senior year is where it all becomes worth it and the rest of your life is finally going to begin.…

Human adolescence is a journey that is often fraught with trials to be overcome, failures and successes to be achieved, and new experiences to be had. Such tribulation serves to teach people valuable lessons concerning life and the ways of the world as we are whisked along the chaotic river of our teenage years, thrust ever closer to the impending deluge of responsibility and uncertainty known as adulthood. One aspect of the human experience which many explore for the first time during this stage is that of love; or, rather, what our inexperienced and underdeveloped minds perceive as love. Many people can recall with an atmosphere of bittersweet nostalgia and perhaps even longing, the first crush they ever had. Often, such romantic interests…

As young adults, they have to learn how to find harmony in their lives and to not feel out of kilter, too often. They need to learn about the Ying and Yang, the balance of nature and your total being, and take a Life Skills course. Too many times, and it is unfortunate, that students do not know how to make use of their time properly. Girls need time alone, and time for their girlfriends, even if they are going out with someone. An important rule, however, is to not allow a guy to interfere with much needed time alone, so that they can recharge and mentally cope (because many do get depressed), and guys must not interfere in anyone's studies.…

People always tell me that the way I live in high school will affect the way I will be living in the future. If I treat high school like it is no big deal and don't try, I will most likely have a poor job later in life because no high school means no college, and no college usually does not lead to a good job. People have told me that high school is a very important time in life and I should not take it for granted but be thankful for it. I should give my all in my studies, sports, and social life. Especially because I'm still a freshman, I have the chance to start and get through a positive and successful high school life.…
