After completing the survey for my economics course it gave me a career field that I should consider joining based off of my answers to the survey. The field I was given was investigative. I agree with choice because I love to solve puzzles and work with things that makes me have to think to figure it out. Also, the investigative field is a good fit for me because the jobs that are involved in this field involve math which is one of my favorite subjects whether it be engineering or computer programming. Plus, with it being investigative I am not limited by the math field because I could also work in the medical field by being a doctor trying to find a malignant tumor. The two career paths I have decided on that stem from this career category would have to be computer hardware engineer or being a biomedical engineer.
Additionally, the career path that I have chosen for myself is the path of being a computer hardware engineer. The reason being is that I like work with computers and electrical systems. For me working with computers would be amazing because I could have a part in designing and building computers not just for consumer use but also for the private sectors in the government. Also, I chose this path because it not only provides very well with the median college graduate salary being $75,000. It also is projected to have one million more job openings than graduates to go into this field. This makes it nearly impossible for me not to be employed at any given time. Plus, if I ever became tired of working with computers which I do not see happening it would be easy to switch to an electrical engineering job to work with other things such as cars and airplanes. The reason being is that they both take the same electrical courses in college to obtain their respective degrees. This is a perfect path because I have wanted to do this job for as long as I could remember.
