Extended Response So what does citizenship means to me? Is it just a piece of paper that says you are a citizen of a country or does it mean something more in a deeper level. With me being born and raised in the United States I have learned a few key points about what a citizen is. To me being a citizen of the United States is to do my commitment towards the country I am a part of.
To fill my commitments to my country means to me. I feel like being a citizen includes both my rights and my responsibilities, whether I am part of a country, state or my community. Each group has it’s own responsibilities and rights. For example when I am an adult I’ll have to pay taxes that will help found for my community & help improve my living conditions. Being a citizen implies rights and responsibilities, whether you are a citizen of the world, your country, your state, your community, or your family.
