What Every Parent Should Know
Children are born without any sort of knowledge and eagerly look for someone to imitate. That someone is usually their parents. Parents are a child’s first role models. They learn how to behave by seeing what their parents do and follow by example.
That is why parents should be aware of what they say and do when they are with their children. By including words like “please” and “thank you” as part of daily life, parents teach good manners.
Parents who normally put down other people are teaching their kids that it is okay to do so and that other people are not important. If parents want their child to respect others, a great place to start is at home. If parents show respect, it is likely that children will show others respect.
Being consistent in setting an example is extremely important. If parents tell the child that he should not hit anyone and then spank him as punishment for misbehavior, the child will become confused by the mixed signals.
Parents are human and make mistakes. It is important to say they are sorry and show that they’re trying to make things right. Being positive role models for children is one of the most important and rewarding things parents can do for their child.

I learned in psychology that between the ages of two to six is the most important developmental stages of someone’s life, which actually is very accurate. Kids follow in their parents’ footsteps because whatever you teach them, that’s what you will get out from them as an end result. Like my parents taught me to respect anyone that’s older than me. No matter who they were, even if I didn’t know them at all, my job was to respect them. I really do owe it to my parents for raising me like this, because of them I have way better relationships with people in general than most others do all the time.…

From the day we are born we are bonded with that special someone you know our mother and father. They teach us the way of life things we should and should not do and always treat everyone with respect. As toddlers our minds are little sponges waiting to absorb any and everything our minds are exposed to. So from time to time we may take in the bad stuff and test it out on people, like talking to people in a rude way or demanding things in a way a child shouldn’t basically the child is mimicking the adult. That’s when the parents step in and mold there child into a well-mannered being and properly tell them how to speak to adults. Teaching the common mannerism like saying please, thank you, and excuse me makes a big difference in someone’s perception of you also that tells that person that their parents have taught them well. There is a lot more mannerism to be taught to a child but we learn these…

Circumstances as they may be, parents may set certain norms. Children may not understand their implications, but if they obey, very often they will steer of dangers. For instance, the parent may warn his son of bad company. If the son obeys, he will grow unscathed. The parents may insist on personal cleanliness, keeping things neat and tidy, being regular in studies and so on and so forth. If the boy or girl obeys the parents in such and other things, he or she will surely grow into a finer one.…

1.The problem of bringing up children has always existed in every human community; it will exist as long as there are children: for mankind it is eternal. While bringing up children, parents, teachers, trainers, educators, mentors, tutors, grandparents, uncles, aunts, elder brothers and sisters, camp counsellors, nannies, headteachers and other school authorities, governesses, nurses, coaches, supervisors, etc. usually face a lot of problems, such as misbehaviour, disobedience, aggression, rudeness, disrespect, naughtiness, deceit, arrogance, impudence, impertinence and dishonesty. When grown-ups fail to cope with these problems successfully, they usually label children “difficult”. Often it is the result of their own wrong, improper behaviour or ill, inadequate treatment of children. It is generally acknowledged that children tend to copy grown-ups. And if a grown-up is rude, irritable, impatient, intolerant, aggressive, shouts all the time, etc. a child is most likely to be the same. For an ill-mannered grown-up can hardly expect a child to have good manners with his or her own example constantly in sight. Anne Shirley*, for example, is rude and disrespectful with Marilla’s neighbour and friend, but it is partly the lady’s own fault. She was inconsiderate enough to call the girl’s red hair “carrots”, which humiliated Anne greatly. So if you want a child to be polite and respectful to you, you should also respect his or her feelings.…
