Zeus had come to Heracles with one last labor to
Complete for his punishment to end. Hearing Zeus
Utter this had Heracles devastated and filled with
Anger that he could not show because he does not
Want to anger him any further than he has. Heracles
Tries to reason with him, “All mighty Zeus, god of
Sky and thunder, have you not put me in enough
Danger with these twelve labors?” Zeus simply
Responds, “No! You shall travel to the village
Of Athens and ask about Syprus, one of the most
Deadly dragon in existence. Heracles was ready to
Turn tail and run but alas he decided to go on with
Zeus’s one last labor, so that he can be at peace once
Again. “I shall go and slay the dragon Syprus!”

Zeus bellowed to Heracles,
“This is no ordinary dragon, this dragon is the best of
The best and will stop at nothing until all in its path
Is decimated. The dragon is so fierce that it can eat
Lions from the jungles without breaking a sweat. The
Goddess Aphrodite knows the beast very well. She
Barely escaped the clutches of Syprus with brute strength
And tremendous courage.” Listening to each and every
Detail, Heracles shows no emotion on the outside to
Show that he is not fazed by anything said by Zeus. But
He is fearing for his life in his mind. “Are there any
Weaknesses known for this ferocious dragon that you
Speak of? Or is he a labor that will end my life once
And for all?” Heracles said. “Unfortunately there are
No known weaknesses for this creature.” Zeus says slyly.
“You must defeat this dragon and flay it to find a box
Within its scaly, leathery tail. Once you find this box you
Shall return here to me and not open it.” Heracles responds,
“What is so damn important about this box that I must risk
My own life to retrieve for you? Why don’t you go and do this
Task yourself!” Zeus responds with some anger behind his
Voice. “Do not question me, this is your last labor and I …show more content…
Do you wish me luck or safety for this final labor I am to
Embark on?” asked Heracles. There was a long pause before
Anything was uttered by either one. He nods off to Heracles
And shouts, “Leave my presence before I change my mind and
Think of something worse for your final labor.” Although
Heracles knew this was a bluff he did not want to play
Zeus, god of all gods, just in case there was something worse
For him to do. So Heracles decided to leave for Athens
Immediately. The journey to Athens took roughly a month and
When he arrived Heracles started to ask every villager he could
Find to point him in the direction of Syprus. No villager dared
To reveal where the deadly dragon lived because Syprus was
Not active and had not been active for some time now. The
Villagers just wanted as much peace as they could achieve
With the inactivity of the dragon. Just as Heracles was about
To give up on locating the dragon through the villagers, he
Stumbled onto a blind old man looking for handouts.
Thinking if he gave this old man something he could shed
Some light on where this dragon lived. Heracles did not
Want to give anything to this man so he decided to try
