Different sources of media always have different perspectives on the same topic. Despite how much evidence and other known information, one source will always have different thoughts than the others. In the case of George Zimmerman and Trayvon Martin, two well-known news reports, CNN and The New York Times present the same topic in various ways. The news networks both discuss what happened the night Trayvon Martin was killed, but the main differences are the attention-getting techniques, the complexity, and the sequence of information. One aspect in which these articles differ is their attention-getting techniques. In each article, there are personal accounts of what happened from witnesses who were at the scene. For example, the CNN article discusses how Zimmerman followed Martin although he was told not to. Likewise, in The New York Times’ article, Zimmerman following Martin is mentioned as well as the dispatcher telling him not to.
