What, in your view, are the two most important messages delivered in the film Wall-E, and what are some of the ways they are they presented?
The movie Wall-E was realised June 27, 2008and directed by Andrew Stanton and produced by Jim Morris. Wall-E is a heart-warming Dystopian based film set seven hundred years in the future Wall-E a small waste collecting robot inadvertently embarks on a space journey that will ultimately decide the fate of mankind as well as re connecting with his true love eve also a robot sent to earth to determine if life is safe for human kind .In this reflection I will discuss what I think are the main messages in the movie Wall-E. Firstly how technology can be unpredictable and dangerous. And secondly how companionship is an important part of being happy.

The main message in the movie wall-E is how technology can be unpredictable and the dangerous. In the film Wall-E earths is unsafe for mankind to live on everyone has been in space for over 700 years and all humans are mechanically controlled no one has any intermediate commutation as life is in a chair ,food in a cup and Communication is on a computer screen .life in space is overrun with obesity and the average life span has risen to 150 years plus as there was no need for anyone to age. This message in the movie shows that technology can be good for example Eve discovering life one earth but it can also be a dangerous and uncontrollable such as auto pilot. Technology can enrich our lives but can also over power and make us very lazy which was demonstrated in the film.

The movie showed that companion ship is a big part of being happy. The movie Wall-E is a great example of showing that everyone needs companion ship. Wall-E and Eve meeting shows how having company can make someone truly happy. Wall-E Going to the limits to stay with is true love that he had such great emotions for each other for was in trouble wall-E would wait in whatever conditions storms and even when she is taken back to space he stayed with her. As well as john and marry john and marry who had discovered there inner self’s

As technology has grown immensely in the past century, we have seen the rise of many movies surrounding this topic. Movies ranging from family friendly flicks about the bond between a fighting machine and boy while others explore the science behind technological advances in educational films. However, the large majority seem to highlight the morbid possibility of what could happen when technology turns against us. These examples are found all throughout the media, but are dramatized to a whole new degree on movie posters. In my case, I am specifically referencing both the 2001: a space odyssey poster as well as the recently released Ex Machina poster. Both posters are meant to pitch the idea of where technology is going to be taking us. Yet, in the 2001: space odyssey the message is lacking and bordering on tangent to the movie in comparison to Ex Machina. On one side we see a poster about an epic adventure through space, but is conveyed in a poor way that takes away from the enjoyment of a topic such as space. Whereas on the other hand, we have the Ex Machina poster conveying a dark and eerie feeling that sells the movie exactly for what it is. Though Ex Machina is a clear winner here, to truly understand such rationale we must deeply analyze the visual rhetoric in both posters.…

I like your connection between the movie Wall-E and transcendentalism. Now thinking about it, Disney has created a lot of movies that get to do with Transcendentalism. For example, another movie from Disney that supports the view of transcendentalism is Avatar. In this movie, nature energy flows through all living thing which link with the transcendentalist belief that nature is a source of instruction, nourishment, and enchantment for the soul. Emerson’s quote “The happiest man is the one who learns from nature the lesson of worship. In Avatar, the Omaticaya can communicate with their god through the Tree of voices.…

The movie opens to an abandoned, trash-ridden Earth over 800 years in the future. The landscape is piled with garbage and a solitary robot, Wall-E, is all that remains, with only his little cockroach friend for company. He works all day, compacting humanity’s discarded rubbish into cubes while squirreling away the keepsakes he finds interesting and watching old Fred Astaire films. One day, Wall-E discovers a plant growing and transplants it into an old boot to add to his collection.…

A widely-renowned contemporary movie containing multiple themes of apocalyptic literature is “WALL-E”. In this movie, a futuristic dystopian society is presented in which there are no longer any humans present on Earth due to it no longer being sustainable for life. The humans have now been long-removed from Earth and now live on an enlarged spaceship named the “Axiom”, which is funded by the monopolistic company “Buy ‘n’ Large”. Over time, the passengers of the “Axiom” have become morbidly obese, as they have now spent many years having to rely on hove automated systems in order to maneuver and communicate with one another. Therefore, there are many underlying components within this movie that would qualify it as apocalyptic literature. For one, the plot of the movie is “cosmic in scope”, as it depicts the monotonous livelihoods of humans in outer space after having over-polluted the Earth to the point where it is no longer inhabitable. Its “cosmic scope” is also suggested by how manipulative of an effect mass-consumerism will have on the human population, as “Buy ‘n’ Large” holds total ownership over every product that is told to the humans, even in space. Another apocalyptic theme is the user of “satire to shape perception of reality”. In this case, the satire employed in this movie proposes a strong critique of society today by focusing on a multitude of issues such as pollution, consumerism, obesity, and technology. This can be interpreted as the director alluding to the potential “point of no return” that will transpire for humanity if we choose to not address the negative impacts society is having on our environment and well-being. Additionally, there is also a “fellowship of friends against the forces of evil” presented in this film due to the developing relationship between the two robots “WALL-E” and “EVE”. In the end, their fellowship allows the humans to return back to Earth when they present a living plant from Earth to the Axiom’s captain, indicating Earth’s…

The movie Wall-E and the novel Feed by M.J. Anderson differ in several areas; however, they have many connections in the author’s use of consumerism. Technology is so crucial to the society in Feed and Wall-E, that when it ceases to function, people are helpless and cannot survive without it. For an example in Feed, when the main characters’ Feeds are hacked, they can barely survive a few days without technology. While sitting in the hospital they are miserable, “They couldn’t help me at all, so I was just lying there, and couldn’t play any of the games on the feed, and couldn’t chat anyone, and I couldn’t do a thing except look at that stupid boat painting.” (Anderson 49). In Wall-E, people are equally disabled…

Once the viewer reaches about half way into the movie, there is no way that you cannot notice the evolution of humans in time and space in Wall-E. The humans in the 26th century living on the axiom spend their lives lying on moving couches. The humans eat their foods through straws, they seem to not even enjoy their way of living, and the people live their lives not through communicating person to person, but only by way of a halo-screen similar to that of face-timing on an iPhone. This message was an effective way of saying that convenience and innovation for the sake of convenience can reverse progress in society. This fact of doing absolutely nothing and limiting ones creativity and exploration, due to over reliance on technology is highlighted by the captain when he says to the autopilot “I can’t just sit here and do nothing. That’s all I’ve ever done. That’s all anyone on this ship has ever done, Nothing!” The Captain was finally at a point where he realized there society aboard the Axiom was at a standstill for so long, that there was no progression in any form, that at this point he was ready to do something about it. Furthermore; Displayed throughout the story is the visual element personifying robots, the ultra dependency on these robots has been the foreground for humans to survive aboard the axiom, robots control and order the world. As in the case where…

In Wall-E people become reliant on their hover chairs because they use them so much they can’t walk anymore. Even though in life we have not lost the ability to walk we still rely on technology like the characters in Wall-E do with their hover chairs. We have become reliant on cars to get us places. Technology still effects people in cars as well. As people are driving they often have a phone out. This is a huge negative side effect of technology. In 2014 in the United States of America “3179 lives lost because of distracted driving” (Webb). All the distraction came from cell phone use. Technology like cars are useful in so many ways but it can also end up causing thousands of deaths each…

Wall-E, one of the main characters of the film, demonstrated the beatitudes through his heroic deeds such as saving the plant, going after Eve for thinking she was in danger, and showing such care and compassion towards other people. To start with, Wall-E demonstrated the eighth beatitude which states, “Blessed are they who are persecuted for the sake of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven”, through his valiant acts of putting himself in danger to merely do the right thing. In the film, Wall-E had tried to keep the holo-detector up so that they could put the plant in it and be able to go home to Earth, but he ended getting his whole body crushed while trying to do so. This shows how Wall-E was determined to sacrifice himself…

Wall-e takes the idea of sustainability to a whole new level with dramatic appeal to the viewer’s pathos, lothos, and ethos. The story follows a small robot, Wall-e, as he tries to clean up the mess on earth that is left by humans. We assume that this tale takes place in the future and can interpret this as a prediction of what will come to be according to the author. Though clearly an overstatement, Wall-e sends chills to the viewer through its powerful message. Wall-e takes American consumerism to new heights by exaggerating what may come to be if Americans continue with their current lifestyle, using fear as its driving force.…

Andrew Stanton’s science fiction animation Wall-E (2008) tells the story of a robotic creature named Wall-E, who, along with other robots had been charged with cleaning up Earth after the human’s consumerism and greed destroyed the natural balance of the planet, turning it into an uninhabitable mess of garbage and waste. In this dystopian future humans have abandoned earth to live on a spaceship (The Axiom). The fact that the humans have abandoned Earth is very apparent in the setting of it, which is very dystopian and barren, with only piles of rubbish and ruins of previous buildings remaining on the planet. This is a direct contrast to the spaceship, which is very clean, tidy and futuristic. Stanton uses many techniques like costume, setting, music, and cinematography to establish the main themes of the consequences of consumerism and greed, romance, more specifically the importance of love, and nostalgia.…

They have greatly increased the life-expectancy of those of us who live in “advanced” countries, but they have destabilized society, have made life unfulfilling, have subjected human beings to indignities, have led to widespread psychological suffering (in the Third World to physical suffering as well) and have inflicted severe damage on the natural world.” I have experienced technological advancements by working with any new software on a computer and the constantly evolving world of phones and computer, so I have some mixed feelings in agreement to both views. It is through this I have learned that technology evolving can be good but it does, at times, come with heavy burdens and consequences for the…
