Is Being lgbt+ a Choice? People all around the world bash anything other than societys version of "normal". Some people have religions that they believe shouldn't allow these kinds of people and some may just believe it out of their own free will. Why would anybody choose to be something that is so hated it has caused suffering and deaths? Nobody would choose to become a second class citizen and to get death threats and not be accepted by their own family. People who are lgbt+ have been proven to have a higher chance of depression and suicide, they are bashed by many people around the world and could be killed for it, and scientific researchers specializing in human sexuality have repeatedly shown that homosexuality is genetic. Lets not forget about the causes of not being the gender that people assign you with at birth. Studies show that lesbian, gay and bisexual people show higher levels of anxiety, depression and suicidal feelings than heterosexual men and women. Rates of drug and alcohol misuse have also been found to be higher. Poor levels of mental health among gay and bisexual people have often been linked to experiences of homophobic discrimination and bullying. Why would anybody willingly choose this? Even though 10.5% doesnt seem like much it's actually quite a bit. Apparently to your understanding, it's a choice. So 10.5% of the entire population has just chosen to be the laughing stock of humanity and get pushed to the point of killing themselves. You're saying they pretty much just chose to have that gun at their head and pull a trigger or swallow those pills like its nothing.
