he tried to gamble to get more. As he did so, he lost even more money and finally had to leave the University. His Aunt Maria Clemm helped him get back on his feet, and she let him stay at her house with her and her daughter, Virginia. When Virginia was 13, he married her.
The famous Poe tried to hold a job for a long time, but the longest he lasted was two years. He went from job to job until his wife became ill. As his troubles worsened, he tried to relieve them by drinking, which would make him sick. He moved to New York City with his wife and his aunt. The experiences that shaped Edgar Allan Poe into an adult were when his wife died, after they almost died of starvation during one winter. Another experience would be that he kept losing his job and after Virginia died, he went on to marry his widowed friend.
Poe’s wife helped him get through his many job losses and she was an inspiration for his writing when she was younger. She died from tuberculosis at the age of 24. The challenges Edgar Allan Poe had to face were when Mr. Allan pushed Poe out of his life with no money. The outcome was that he tried to gamble to get more money and ended up owing money to people. He had to leave the college he went to and had to live with his aunt and cousin. After living with them for a while, he married his cousin at the age of 13. Another challenge was when his wife died. The outcome was that he was overwhelmed with grief, until his health and finances were struggling too much. He died in 1849.
His accomplishments were achieved by having many little jobs to support his wife, his aunt, and him. He couldn’t keep these jobs, however, because of his drinking problem. He was writing now-famous things like The Black Cat and The Raven. He would have them published in the newspapers. In the end, I think that Edgar Allan Poe is considered an important historic figure because he was a great writer that found many ways to reveal his stories.
