Course and student assessment will consider student ability to:
Establish and defend the reasoning for public
relations communications as evidenced by writing assignments.
Identify components of persuasive messages as evidenced by writing assignments that are held to strategic and tactical criteria.
Apply ethical guidelines and principles to public communication as evidenced by critique of public relations writing.
Understand the strategic value of communication initiatives as evidenced by writing assignments.
FORMAT:
This course will be conducted using a variety of methods including lecture, discussion, in-class activities, and critique. Students are expected to keep up with class readings, contribute regularly, deliver assignments on schedule, conduct research, and defend and present concepts and project work. The delivery and evaluation of assignments will follow the patterns of professional practice as closely as possible.
