To me, racing means being around friends and family, doing something you love. Time and commitment are what has to be put forth in order to be successful in this sport. I rode from the age of five up until I was fourteen. Doing this sport every weekend for years is what my family and I would do. Long car rides was something we got used to fairly quickly. Sleeping, watching movies, and playing games were just some of the things we did to help pass the time. Once we arrived at a race, the anticipation would build as we became more eager to get out of the car and go explore the track that we would soon be competitively riding on. The reason for doing this is because it helps us to get to know the track before racing on it, so there aren't any surprises in the practice laps and actual races. This race was fun until I had the scare of my life on my first lap. For this essay, we will begin where it all started, planning for the race. Doing this can be very difficult sometimes because there is a lot of work in getting things ready and packed for the upcoming race. Once the weekend was planned, we would begin by servicing all our bikes, making sure they were clean and working properly. After this, I would spend the Thursday and Friday before the race, getting snacks and preparing our camper for the trip. Once we were all set and ready to leave, we loaded up some last minute items and headed off to the race. Finally arriving at the tack, we began to get excited at the sight. Once we were parked, we began to unload our bikes and get the camper ready. After all this, my family and I would proceed to the check in stand where we would sign up for our classes. My brother, sister, and I were all in different classes at the time. My brother was in the 250 class, my sister was in the 85 class and I was in the 65 class. These numbers all represent the different bike sizes. Racing the smaller bikes was fun, but the monstrous, large bikes are much more fun. At the time though, I was only on the smaller
