Cancer of the eye is retinoblastoma its only happens in off springs. It is a disease of the very young children. Sixty-six percent of people with retinoblastoma are realized before they are two years old, and more than ninety percent of people have it before the growth of five.
Retinoblastoma can take two forms or types: Around three-fourth percentage of offspring with retinoblastoma has one lump or tumor in one eyeball. This is named one-sided retinoblastoma, and it generally develops around two years of age. About one-fourth percent of children with retinoblastoma have lump or tumors in each eyeball. This is called two-sided or multifocal retinoblastoma, and it frequently develops before the age of one. The contrast …show more content…
The majority of retinoblastoma is created and treated before they have extended outside the eyeball. But retinoblastoma cells can rarely extend to other parts of the body. The cells from time to time produce along the optic nerve and get to the brain. Retinoblastoma cells can also produce throughout the covering layers of the eyeball and into the eye socket, eyelids, and near tissues. Once the cancer reaches tissues outside the eyeball, it can then spread to lymph nodes (small bean-shaped collections of immune system cells) and to other organs such as the liver, bones, and bone marrow (the soft, inner part of many bones).
Is there a cure for retinoblastoma? No it is treatments for retinoblastoma .They include: Surgery-(naturally involving the taking away or replacement of diseased tissue by cutting)
Radiation therapy-(is when they are using ionizing radiation, generally as part of cancer treatment to control or destroy nasty cells.)
Photocoagulation (using lasers to kill small tumors or the blood vessels that provide for them)
Cryotherapy (using cold to freeze and destroy small tumors)
Thermotherapy (using a type of laser to apply heat to destroy small …show more content…
High-dose chemotherapy and stem cell transplant (Stem cell transplants allow doctors to use higher doses of chemotherapy (chemo) to destroy the cancer than in general would be tolerated. You can also get a false eye (known as a glass eye).It required spherical implant to be
