What Is Staples Poor?
Staples Inc. sells over 1 million products available to its retail, online and Advantage customers around the world such as office supplies, business technology products, facilities’ supplies and breakroom supplies, computers and mobility products, copy and print services, and office furniture products. Staples has a growing portfolio of more sustainable products, including Staples own brand and national brands, in order to meet customer demand. Staple's product offering includes Staples, Quill, and other proprietary branded products. In addition to its proprietary branded products, Staples differentiates its main product offering through third-party relationships. has been a household name for years, it has recently seen financial difficulties. It was the number one office supplies store for a long time as well. In 2006, it had grown earnings at over 20% year-over-year the previous four years. (McGranahan, C., Brunelli, J. R., & Senatore, S. H. 2006) However, due to recent issues Staples has taken a hit. It is time for a change in the company. The problem that has stuck out is Staples poor performance in the global market. The company needs to concentrate on the ventures with in the United States and Canada. Currently Staples does business with 25 countries in Europe, Australia, South America and Asia. It has 280 retail stores in Europe. Some of these stores reside in the United Kingdom, Germany, the Netherlands and Portugal. (Instrument Staples Inc, SPLS.O, 2017) The company cannot keep up with the global markets. It cannot afford it and is failing to succeed. We suggest that Staples pull out of all of its global markets. The company has already began to pull out of its European market. In February of 2017 Staples releases an 8-k discussing the sale of retail, contract and online businesses of the Company and its affiliates in Europe. (Staples, Inc. Form 8-K 2017) This gives the company a head start on the issue. The company can now begin to remove themselves from the other countries it is involved
