When one thinks of presidents residing over a country, the most coveted powers come to mind, especially for United States citizens, where its chief has centralized command over important facets of the government. However, not all presidential systems are the same. For some, the title only bears a symbolic representation for head of state and nothing more. Other presidents find themselves sharing powers with additional officials. The most interesting comparison between presidential systems that have different processes of election and distributions of authority is the United States and France. The examination of the nomination process, voting measures, campaign spending, the media and debates will distinguish the election process. Only then is it fitting to compare and contrasts constitutional powers that each president holds and the shaping of these powers by the governmental system.…

If it was not for the help of the French, America would have never gained their independence from Britain. Britain was the biggest empire that the world had seen since the Roman Empire. In fact, without assistance the Americans were no match for Britain. The hatred towards the British from both the French and Americans had made it easy for them to form an alliance. In 1778, representatives of both America and France signed the Treaty of Alliance. The two countries agreed to aid each other in the event of a British attack from the present time and forever. It also stated that neither country would make amends with England until independence of the United States was recognized. America forming an alliance with the French was significant in gaining America’s independence. Because of the donation of funds, the help from French navy and the help from the French military, the Americans gained their independence.…
The French were important in the American Revolution because they formed alliances with the American, and with great ideas, were those who helped to defeat the British. France and England had their antecedents; therefore the role that I played France was great motivation to fight with those with whom they had been fighting time ago. To say that the Americans could not have been without the French is something uncertain because the facts were others and the only way to know is if it had been without the help of France. I think that the fact of the union in the confrontation was what gave an impulse to the arrival of success. In the Franco-Indian War, France was responsible for helping the American Revolution with the help of the British in the…

The Ancient Greek and Roman governments were pretty much the very first example of a Democratic government leading our government to become what it is now in the United States. Document A, which was part of a speech given by the Roman general Scipio in which he spoke about the system of the Roman government, he talked about how the constitution that Romans had was not created by an individuals. It also talks about the nobles who acted as representatives of the people and how their choices were not made without the consent of the citizens. This is like our modern government because our constitution was made by a group officials and not just one person, so there were many views, just like the Romans had. Our governments are also run by the representatives who listen to and support the ideas that the citizens have. Today we also have some of the same rights and opinions that the governments had then. Document B, which is a quote from an ancient Greek statesman, Pericles, tells what place the people had to him in the Greek Government when he said, “We do not say that a man who takes no interest in politics is a man who minds his own business; we say that he has no business here at all.” What he is trying to say is that it is the job of the citizens to be involved in the government, or they don’t have the right to complain about what the government does. Today, everybody is expected to take part in the politics of our government, even if it is doing something that is as simple as taking the time to vote in the…
Although the American and French Revolutions were similar in many ways, the American Revolution still managed to experience greater success. The American Revolution started in 1776 and was fought by the American colonies and the British. The British heavily taxed the colonies, which made the colonists upset. This resulted in a war between the two, which the colonists ultimately won. The French Revolution started in 1789 and was a series of riots consisting of the French population in protest of the monarchy’s actions. France was in debt because of a war, and this created taxes which the citizens could not pay, so the population was in high poverty. The king did not take any action, however, so the citizens…
British military met the patriot’s minutemen in Lexington when a shot from an undetermined musket fired and launched a American revolution.…
The American and French revolutions introduced similar ideas in fixing society, but different methods of implementing ideas. The American Revolution was created by the American colonists need for financial independence from the overpowering nation of Great Britain, while the French revolution was a struggle to gain social equality among the masses. People claim that the French had a greater impact on a lot of things than the American Revolution, and I agree on it being true. Therefore, the French revolution had a greater impact on everything because it improved human rights, social equality, and being free from oppressive government. I will nextly explain the comparisons of ideas.…
By 1775 the American people were getting fed up with the British continuing to raise and impose taxes on the colonists. As tensions grew, the two sides started to engage in real warfare. Once the fighting ceased and the Americans had gained independence, citizens would question how revolutionary the war actually was. The American Revolution was in fact revolutionary because the battles and treaties between the two nations led to the American people getting their independence as well as inspiring another revolution.…
