views” (Federalist Papers 10). Agreeing to what Madison said brings us to modern day democracy where what was Established still comes to play. Both parties have different principles and focus on different things. Republicans are more conservative, a little religious, pro-business and against the bureaucracy which often associated with big government. They see big government as a waste of time and an obstacle to making things happen. Unlike the democrats they are more liberal and support the bureaucracy. But according to the New York Times“Both parties agree on the absolute necessity of reforming the addled, inefficient American tax code. That means eliminating much of the underbrush of credits, loopholes and expenditures and then reducing marginal tax rates” (Lowrey). This is a good thing that both parties can agree on because making simpler will most likely get more people to do their taxes and reduce illegal tax evasion. They also agree on regulatory simplification and other topics too but aside of what they agree they also disagree they are totally the opposite from each other. The Republican Party is best known as the GOP ("Grand Old Party"), it is one of the world's oldest political parties still in existence. It is also the second oldest existing political party in the United States. According to the federalist papers 10 "If a faction consists of less than the majority, relief is supplied by the republican principle, which enables the majority to defeat the sinister views by regular votes.” Republicans are more conservative on issues they lean more right. They believe that the federal government should not have a big impact in people's lives. A very controversial subject is abortion. Republicans do not support abortion they believe that employer-paid health insurance should cover contraceptives. When it comes to gay marriage they also oppose it they believe that marriage should be between man and women not women and women or man and man. As we see republicans have a more religious aspect in their opinion to controversial topics. They a are most likely based on what the holy bible says about theses issues. There are also some issues that don't relate to religion for example immigration. Republicans are against undocumented immigrants therefore enforce stronger border action. The Democratic Party is the one of the oldest political party still in the U.S.
This political party began when Jefferson founded the Democratic-Republicans in 1792. Most of the times Democrats are referred as "the Party of the People," which attract immigrants, blue-collar workers, women, and minorities. Democrats tend to take a more liberal stand on important issues. Unlike the Republicans they believe that the government should be more involved in people's lives. Democrats are the opposite of republicans. When it comes to abortion democrats are Pro-choice and they support the Roe v. Wade. As for Gay marriage they believe that they should have equal rights and have the freedom on whom they choose to marry. Lastly the biggest controversial issue immigration, they believed be that they should grant citizenship to anyone with no criminal record that has been here for at least 5 years. Democrats are more new aged andtheir opinion are based on what fits society better now not what it has traditionally
been These two political are polar opposites but it's what our country is made of. These political parties have a voice for the millions of people in this country. This was not set in the constitution but was set by tradition to help improve the country's and the people's opinions.
