The Great Gatsby by, F. Scott Fitzgerald is a novel that creates imagery almost around every corner. The book also shows how cupidity and duplicity can lead to chaos. As a human being in this world, its natural or a need to want things that our of reach: not caring of the ramifications along the way. The book The Great Gatsby has been produced into multiple films. The two that we are most aware of was an older version made in 1974 with director Jack Clayton, starring Robert Redford as J.Gatsby. 39 years after the 1974 movie, a new Great Gatsby movie came out in 2013, in which Baz Luhrmann directed a new version of “The Great Gatsby” Which starred a very well know actor, …show more content…
In this manner going along with that, Robert Redford took on the complicated character of, J. Gatsby in which didn’t deliver the emotions it took to become Mr. Gatsby. A particular scene that can be inspected in the 1974 movie, Redford starred in was when Tom Buchanan confronted Gatsby in the plaza hotel, accusing him of illegal bootlegging. in the movie(1974) Redford seems Calm and isn’t moving in a aggressive (physical) way towards Tom. And even after their confrontation , Redford doesn’t show what Emotions that Gatsby would really have like the book does: "'I've got something to tell you, old sport-' began Gatsby. But Daisy guessed at his intention. ... 'Your wife doesn't love you,' said Gatsby. 'She's never loved you. She loves me.'" (Fitzgerald 130) A Truthful sentence describing how all of the feelings and truths are put out on the table for everyone. Mr. Gatsby deserves acting that attracts the audience, with his emotions. Redford simply has a uninteresting expression with his emotions, unlike the character portrayed in the book. when people go to the movies or at sitting at home watching a TV show, people want to identify with the shared human emotions, so sometimes a specific situation will resonate with readers when the character becomes involved. opposed from Redford Dicaprio makes his “score”on the
