In the book, Solomon compares how humans live and how God lives. He uses these comparisons to show us the right and proper way to live as a person of God.
One of the main characters that is repeatedly brought up in Solomon's writings is Woman Wisdom. Woman Wisdom guides us and teaches us how to do God's will here on Earth. King Solomon also shows us how we can learn from other kinds of people by using them as examples. We are taught how not to make the same mistakes as them.
In a short interview about 200 years ago, King Solomon was asked what the purpose of writing all of these proverbs was for. The King replied, "I am so blessed by God to be wise and intelligent, and someday when I am no longer here I want others to here what I have said. I want to teach wisdom to all people."
We have talked to several people who have read the Book of Proverbs and the reviews were mixed. Most people loved the advice the book gave, but others were upset with the lack of actual events that were described. God seeing Solomon new found of love said to him, “Forasmuch as this is done of thee, and thou hast not kept my covenant and my statutes, which I have commanded thee, I will surely rend the kingdom from thee, and will give it to thy servant.” (APA, KJV, 1 Kings 11:11) Before the sins of Solomon, he was obedient and God granted him wisdom to rule the people of Israel. God gave Solomon more than he asked for; he gave him riches and honor. With the newfound wisdom, he was able to build a temple in Jerusalem. His pride slowly overtook his growth in the Lord. Solomon ended up relying on his riches than the wisdom God had anointed on him, leading him to engage in ungodly activities. His disobedience leads to the weak monarchy in Israel resulting in the Kingdom being dived into a North and a South…

In "Song of Solomon" the women take somewhat of a backseat compared to the men. There are plenty of strong and important female characters in this work but they become disposable to the men. For example Macon Dead II loved the thrill of taking off Ruth's shoes and stocking but as time passed he simply hated her and wasn't afraid to hit her either. From Ruth's perspective she just craved loved and wanted someone to fill her void since he husband would no longer show her an ounce of appreciation. Ruth then decided that Milkman would be her champion and she would love him and hopefully that love would be reciprocated and this relationship would eventually lead her to breastfeeding Milkman even when he was too old for it and thus him receiving…

Like King, he was also very open-minded and practiced non-violence to solve problems. His main focus was breaking up problems into a series of questions, and the answers will gradually distill to the answer a person truly seeks. It’s similar to a hypothesis; if you’re lucky, it’ll only take a few steps, but if not, it might require a little more patience and critical thinking. This is now called the Socratic Method, a reversed process of elimination, in that better hypotheses are found by progressively identifying and eliminating those that lead to contradictions. This makes perfect sense; we can use a modern day example. You’ve probably heard this a lot, “there’s no such thing as a stupid question.” This is true most of the time. We are naturally born with curiosity, especially when we were younger. Remember those good old days when you just kept on asking “why” or “how” and so on? We don’t really notice it but all questions do have an answer, it’s just if you’re willing to look for it. Socrates was wise to know his limitations, and admit to the things he did not know…

The book of Proverbs is the Hebrew book of Wisdom. Its purpose is to provide practical instructions to live a wise, well ordered live. The difference between being diligent, wise, lazy, and having folly is knowledge. Proverbs addresses this in its first chapter: “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction” (Proverbs 1:7). This is the most basic ingredient in wisdom. All wisdom depends on knowledge of God and the submission to His will. To think or believe that you know something, but you do not know God negates the value of having knowledge. Wisdom comes from being faithfully diligent in the Word of God.…

A moment, much like life, is not fully complete until one realizes that it is fleeting. The curse of man is that after being gifted with advanced intellect and comprehension, he is now fully knowledgeable of the impending demise about to be suffered by him and his kind. No other creature on his planet has such a burden to bear. The simple things are also the most extraordinary things, and only the wise can see them. Wisdom is learned by three distinct means: by reflection, which is noblest, is first; second, by imitation, which is by far the easiest of the three; and third by experience, which is the bitterest as it involves putting into practice your own method and weighing out their successes. With all the aspects of living that go on, one…
