What Is The Treaty Of Versailles
Q3. The Treaty of Versailles occurred after the end of World War I. All nations around the world joined together to write the treaty, with the exception of Russia and Germany. Many nations came to get freedom and independence for their countries. Many smaller countries believed that they should get something in return for helping win the war for the western territories. One of the countries looking to receive something or their efforts would be China. China joined World War I on the side of the Allies. In 1917, the declared war against Germany. Therefore, they marched into battle hoping to help the allies win. After, they believed that they would be rewarded for their duty, however this was not the case.
As China declared war on Germany, the young men marched off to fight for the side of the Allies. After the western territories had won the war against Germany, the Versailles peace conference was to occur. All nations, excluding Russia and Germany, had gone to the conference. Once there, the majority asked for their freedom and independence. Everyone who went believed that they would get equal say in the treaty. People thought that freedom, independence, and possibly even land would be given. However, …show more content…

The demonstrations brought forth by the students spread to other cities and exploded into a national movement. Henceforth, it became known as the May Fourth Movement. Soon enough, everyone began to join the movement. These demonstrations showed the Chinese people's commitment of establishing a strong, modern nation.
