To Live an Active and Healthy Lifestyle

What does it mean to be active and healthy? Does it just mean that you have good health? Did you know that on average, only 13% of men are physically fit, but 69% of men believe that they are physically fit? It is very important to stay in shape. Living and active and healthy lifestyle is beneficial in many ways to not only yourself but to those around you. Being active and healthy does not have to be hard; it is just a simple matter of routine.
Being active and healthy can mean many things; to some it may mean pushing the limits and exerting yourself to become fitter or stronger, but to many it just means staying in shape or getting into shape. http://www.thefreedictionary.com/ States that fitness as “good health or physical condition, especially as the result of exercise and proper nutrition.” Being healthy and active is very important to live a long and strong life.
If you are physically fit you feel better all of the time. When you are fit your overall quality of life goes up. It may do this because you are able to do more things and be a part of activities that you could not do before. Being physically fit, in a way, frees you to do other things. An example of an activity that you could not do if you were not physically fit is long distance running. You must be very fit to do this, but it is very rewarding. You do not have to be constantly pushing your limits to see how far you can go to be physically fit; being fit can just mean being more comfortable in your own body and being less self-conscious. When you have more confidence in yourself, you can stop worrying about how you look or if you are overweight and focus on the more important things like family and friends.
