One reason for the distribution of resources that led to conflict is geographical luck. This is because there were many places where colonies had been created and settled. Many had been in places where farming wasn't the best a suitable for it and another well they were great places where farming was very strong and soil was rich. One place where farming was great was the Fertile Crescent. This is because of the rivers and water with strong and high in nutrients. One reason is diseases. Diseases were an unexpected cause of death in that time. As the conquistadors came from their land they didn't know and the people they were coming to travel to didn't know about the diseases they had brought. After many days and week's number kept climbing of deaths in the city because of the Diseases. Some of these diseases we smallpox and the Black Plague. Another piece to this is weapons. In this situation weapons played a big part in many colonies had greater and stronger weapons and other were not so great.
