What Makes A Psychopath
Psychopath

Not everyone appears to be who they truly are. On January 13, 1999 Hae Min Lee a senior at Woodlawn high school was strangled to death. Her body was found weeks later in Leakin Park. Adnan syed was convicted of murdering Hae. Adnan Syed doesn't appear to have any kind mental disorders but questions have arose on whether he is a psychopath. Adnan has shown many signs of being a psychopath. Psychopaths shows lack of emotion, especially the social emotions, such as shame, guilt, and embarrassment. They can be intelligent, charming, and good at mimicking emotions. They are very violent towards others. Adnan Possesses many of these traits and could very likely be a Psychopath.

Adnan did not call Hae because he knew she was dead. He knew this because he killed her. Psychopaths manipulative behavior makes it easy for them to lie to anyone. Adnan felt no remorse for what he did and continued to lie about not killing her even when the people investigating have solid evidence against him. As a kid Adnan constantly went behind his parents backs and lied to them on the daily. His manipulative and dishonest personality make him a prime target for being a psychopath.

Psychopath can be very charming and intelligent. Adnan was both these things. Psychopaths are said to be very good at mimicking emotions meaning that when he was in a relationship with Hae it was never real. Hae could have been the first target of many if Adnan did not get caught. His charm and Intelligence make it hard for people to believe that he killed Hae and that is exactly what he wants. Psychopaths pretend to be interested in you but in reality they don’t care. Adnan was just an “actor whose sole mission is to manipulate people for personal gain,” (Tompkins). It is hard to believe someone so charming and kind could be a psychopath but it is a

One of the most common things that psychopaths do once convicted of a crime is blaming someone else. Adnan never did blame anyone including Jay. He could have tried to put the blame on Jay but he decided not to. Adnan claimed that he didn’t know what happened to Hae. This is surprising because that is normally right what a psychopath would jump to doing. This piece of evidence contradicts Adnan being a psychopath.

Adnan has many of the traits that a psychopath has. He shows lack of emotion, such as shame and guilt. He is intelligent, charming, and good at mimicking emotions. His strangulation of Hae was a very violent and common way that psychopaths kill. Adnan shows few signs of himself not being a Psychopath. Adnan has to many signs pointing to being a psychopath to ignore it. This leads me to my final conclusion that Adnan is a Psychopath and that he was for sure the one that killed Hae Min

One thing you should know is that Adnan’s phone pinged from a cell tower by Leakin Park, the way cell towers work is that if you are in the range of a cell tower, the one you are nearest to is the one that will connect. If you remember earlier I stated that Jay had Adnan’s phone at this time, and if you are wondering what reason there would be for Jay to have a grudge on Adnan, well remember Jay's girlfriend she is also Adnan’s best friend, and on top of that during a dance they were both crowned king and queen instead of Jay and her. While this would not give most people a reason to frame someone, it might have been to Jay. To many people Jay was always a very weird and mean kid while to others he was goofy, but there was an instance when he was talking to a friend of his and they started joking around, jay told his friend he “should to know what it's like to be stabbed” and took out his knife, his friend then said “no I don't want to know, why don't you?” and then Jay pretended to try to stab him to which the guy held his hand and they both began to wrestle. This puts Jay in a very tight spot, but even with this there is one evidence that looks especially bad for Adnan and that is the Nisha call. The Nisha call happens at 3:37 pm the afternoon of Hae’s disappearance and it puts Adnan with Jay which in turn collaborates with Jay's story and makes Adnan’s alibi that Jay had his phone invalid.…

Jay says in two different investigations that the call came in around 3:45 but according to the records they came in at 2:36. The records also show that Jay was not at Jenn’s house from 12pm to 3:40pm (like he and Jenn said) that leaves the following; Jay was in the area of Hae’s last-known location at the time that she went missing, and Jay has no alibi for where he was during that time period. Thus, Jay can’t be at Jenn’s house, as he and Jenn told the police over and over. The records show the phone near Woodlawn the entire time of Hae’s (probable) abduction and(or) murder. The same phone was being used to call “Jenn house” at the same time. Adnan has no reason to call Jenn. Did Jay call Jenn?…

On January 13, 1999, tragedy struck when Hae Min Lee went missing after what seemed to be a normal day at Woodlawn High School in Baltimore, Maryland. Then on February 9, 1999, Lee’s body was found buried in Leakin Park, just a seven minute drive from the high school. Lee’s former boyfriend, Adnan Syed, was seventeen at the time of the murder and attended the same school as Lee. They had an on-and-off relationship that officially ended in December of their senior year, just one month before her disappearance. Syed remained the prime suspect in the case and was arrested on February 28, 1999 and charged with first-degree murder. Throughout the trial, the prosecution claimed that Syed was so broken after the break-up, that he murdered Lee out of rage. Lee’s diary was brought in as evidence as she wrote about Syed’s behavior after the break up and details of their relationship. The prosecution also summoned a witness that spoke of Syed’s suspicious behavior, leading up to and after the murder. There were several pieces of key evidence and convincing claims presented in the 1999-2000 trial. The prosecution’s work convinced the jury to produce Syed’s guilty verdict, sentencing him to life in prison.…

Dr. Harold Shipman would be considered a psychopath because he displayed qualities of one during the time of his crimes. Psychopaths usually have charming or disarming personalities and can easily gain people’s trust. Shipman was thought as very kind and had the trust of all of his patients. When people approached him with concern about all of his patients dying, he reassured them that there was nothing to worry about, and they trusted him. The families trusted him that there was no use with getting an autopsy and they believed him. He also didn’t feel guilty or empathetic about the crimes that he committed.…

Adnan was indeed convicted of murdering Hae by the court. Although the reason the court used to convict Adnan of murder were not the most reliable and believable, but the ruling of the court still was correct. If Adnan had truly not murdered Hae, then he would have tried to be more convincing about his testimony and come up with better evidence that he could have used to prove himself innocent. As the court proved Adnan guilty, it it believable because of evidence and logic behind the court’s decision.…
