Why Is Hae Min Lee Murder
Hae Min Lee was murdered on January 13th, 1999. Her body was found in Leakin Park, MD and it was concluded to be a homicide. Adnan Syed was Hae’s boyfriend and seems to be blameless yet defensive as there is no physical evidence connecting him to her murder, meanwhile Jay has other motive to bring Adnan into the case.
Adnan and Hae dated for a while during school and Hae wrote that it was true love until Don came into the picture. Even though the two split they were still friends so everyone thought. Hae wrote many heartfelt things about Adnan in her diary even after they broke up no one said that Adnan was obsessive or mad about it. So there was no real way to tie Adnan into killing Hae until the police checked Adnan’s phone record. Where

He said, “Ok. I’d left out, went shopping with a friend of mine, an ex-friend of mine, Adnan. We had a conversation. During the conversation he stated that he was going to kill that bitch, referring to Hae Lee. I took it with context. It didn’t stand out in my head any.” (Koenig Episode 1) Jay brought Adnan into the murder by accusing him of saying he is going to kill Hae Lee, so they investigated further. Jay also told the detective that he dropped Adnan off for class and they met up after at Jen’s …show more content…
Come get me. I’m at Best Buy.” ( Koenig Episode 1) After Jay met up with Adnan at Best Buy Adnan showed Jay Hae’s body laying in the trunk. Adnan tells him that he needs to go to track practice to make an appearance so that he doesn’t look suspicious and then later meet up to barry the body. Later on Jay then changes his story and then when the police say something to him about it he says, “Like I said, he knows I sold drugs, I mean...that was, I mean, that’s...he could get me locked up for that, I mean. I’m sure if I ratted him out for killing Hae, then he wouldn’t hesitate to turn me over for selling drugs.” (Koenig Episode 4) Jay came clean about dealing drugs to the detective and Jay doesn’t really have anything else in Adnan but his word. Adnan was a outstanding student in school, he was Prom prince his junior year, he was involved in sports, and he was very serious about his religion. There was no behavioral evidence that made anyone think that Adnan Syed would murder anyone let alone Hae Lee. In Hae’s car where Adnan supposedly had Hae’s body and that Jay supposedly witness Adnan barry her

More than fifteen years later, this case once again sparked controversy when aired in 2014 through the podcast. The next day she goes to the cops and tells them that Jay told her Adnan killed Hae. On February 28, Jay gets interviewed by detectives, he tells them everything he knows; how Adnan showed him the body and then leads them to Hae’s car, this proves that Jay was at the scene. But Jay's story changes, the next time he is asked by the detectives he admits to assisting Adnan with burying the body, he later tells Jenn that he needs to clean up the shovels and that he needs her help. These inconsistencies make it hard to believe that he is a solid witness, he doesn't change his story once but multiple times. He tells the Cops that he is sure the murder happened at the Best Buy parking lot and that Adnan later called him from a payphone there, he draws detectives a map of the location of the payphone but when you look through the blueprints and ask the primary and recent owners, no one has ever seen a payphone outside at the parking lot. Before we go any further we need to know the time of the murder, the state's timeline is from 2:15-3:30 pm, this is when Adnan went from Woodlawn High school to Best Buy and between all this still had time to kill Hae, the problem with this is that it's nearly impossible. Investigators Sarah and Dana tested the State's timeline, they accounted for the traffic of getting out of…

Jay says in two different investigations that the call came in around 3:45 but according to the records they came in at 2:36. The records also show that Jay was not at Jenn’s house from 12pm to 3:40pm (like he and Jenn said) that leaves the following; Jay was in the area of Hae’s last-known location at the time that she went missing, and Jay has no alibi for where he was during that time period. Thus, Jay can’t be at Jenn’s house, as he and Jenn told the police over and over. The records show the phone near Woodlawn the entire time of Hae’s (probable) abduction and(or) murder. The same phone was being used to call “Jenn house” at the same time. Adnan has no reason to call Jenn. Did Jay call Jenn?…

The woman, Yu, had been found on a lava embankment; Dan had reported that he found her there, presumably after hanging laundry. She had many injuries; a later autopsy determined she died of two massive wounds caused by a tire iron. She also had scrapes from the lava rocks. In 2012, a new case prosecutor reviewed the case-there was additional blood evidence found, evidently linking DeJarnette to his wife’s death. He was a prime suspect in the first place; this just locked it in.…

Going on Jay wilds, he confessed to help Adnan bury the body in one of his recorded police interviews but in another story by Jen, Jay had claimed that he didn't help bury the body but had no sentencing for helping and knowing about the burying plus the murder of Hae. The body was found in Leakin Park it is a widely known wooded area to dump bodies. Jay had known where Hae's car was but not the body when he claimed to the police he helped bury it but to Jen he didn't help Adnan at all. Also Jay was seen disposing his clothes by another witness Jen but then claims he didn't help Adnan at all but why get rid of the clothes that he was wearing. When Jay was being questioned by police the tapes recorded weren't turned on right when Jay got in the room it took police 45 minutes to get the tapes rolling so what happened in that chunk of time? Jay had cut a deal with the police giving false information in exchange not to bust him for the drug dealing and other crimes he had committed. The state had an out with Jay and they took it causing stories to change to match up to what the police needed to arrest Adnan. The police had ran out of suspects the only one that was left was Adnan and they had to put someone behind bars so the department did not look…

But, what the defense failed to bring to the court's attention is that on a fax cover sheet discovered by Susan Simpson, AT&T clearly states that incoming call information is not reliable for location of the phone, negating the prosecution's use of it being a tracking device for Adnan. Those AT&T records said Syed’s phone “pinged” a cellphone tower covering the park and nearby areas during calls he received at 7:09 p.m. and 7:16 p.m. on 13 January 1999. The calls were described by Syed’s current attorney as “the pillar of the state’s case” against him. In a court motion filed last August, Syed’s attorney, C Justin Brown, said the disclaimer should have barred prosecutors from using the cellphone records. Brown said the misuse of the records in the face of the “unambiguous warning” on AT&T’s cover sheet – and the failure of Syed’s original lawyer to do anything about this, amounted to prosecutorial misconduct and a denial of Syed’s right to due process. Although this evidence seems crucial to the case, Adnan's lawyer never brought this up at trial, one may think that his lawyer may not bring the evidence to trial is because the state didn’t present them the evidence. Also, in Jay’s interview with Intercept he states that the burial took place at midnight, making any significance the cell records had in placing Adnan near the burial site at seven p.m.…

In the tapes of Jay’s interview with investigators the listener often hears a tapping noise. That tapping noise isn’t made by Jay, but by the investigators. The investigators aren’t shy about giving away certain details or wording the question differently so that Jay ends up saying what they want to hear. While it is a serious allegation to point the fingers at the cops for trying to twist the truth or come up with their own story, it is not unlikely for police to do such a thing. In Undisclosed episode three, author Susan simply clearly states what she thinks is really going on in the tapes with Jay and the detectives, “The detectives are repeatedly bullying Jay into giving answers that they want. The detectives will tell Jay that he needs to give a certain answer, and again and again Jay complies. He does say what they tell him to say, and it’s not that subtle either.” Jay was only looking out for himself, he didn’t care if Adnan got charged with Hae’s murder. He and the detectives were determined to have their story made to look credible by Jay so that they could convict…
