I feel like ever since I started to have memory of my life, books are always next to me. When I was a little boy, I only read the things that I was interested in. The reason of this is these books can make me keep focusing on reading. Looking back these days, I am impressed by how much benefits I earned from reading. I feel like reading helps me get ahead of others, and I guess this is why I still like reading in nowadays.…
No matter how young or old you are knowing how to read is a powerful tool. Reading provides you with an imagination and the ability to escape into another world. Reading is my life. It’s my escape from the world around me. I love getting lost in a story about monsters and myths, or a Cinderella gone wrong. If I didn’t draw as much as I did, I’d probably be the anti-social bookworm in the back, like in all those cliche teenage love stories. It’s actually quite surprising to see how many people dislike books, there’s nothing wrong with a little reading every once and awhile. But who am I to judge? I wasn’t a very big reader myself until maybe two years ago. Of course, that leads to the first reason why I enjoy reading so much.…
Although there is much I can’t recall from my early days of reading, there are some momentous flashbacks. When I was beginning elementary school my parents were very eager to introduce me to doing a great deal of reading, they wanted me to enjoy reading for a while and they succeeded. We lived within walking distance of the public library which allowed us to frequently visit the library to read and check out books. I always remembered the vast shelves of books that seemed like they never had an end. In addition to reading at the library we checked books out to bring home to read, this allowed me to read as much as I wanted to. Correspondent to the amount of reading I did, the more I enjoyed it and improved at reading.…
When you pick up a book, you want to make a connection, to connect with the characters, to experience what they are experiencing. Things that we can relate to in books such as family, friendships, sadness, and fear can help us when we are going through a hard time. Reading can be an escape or way to cope for some people. It could be a fairytale or a parallel world that’s completely opposite than our own. While reading you can see how people feel about love or music, being reassured that you are not the only one feeling how you do. It’s a place to share and laugh out loud and enjoy what you see in the story.…
Finding one book that intrigued Stephanie enough was all it took to make her an everyday reader. The same goes to me. When in my earlier years I hated reading. There were only two things I hated to do. Those two things were reading, and doing what someone told me to do. Hating a combination of the both you could see how the disposition with reading would subsist. It wasn’t until the summer going into middle school that I changed my ideals on the subject.…

Because my childhood was so filled with literature, the fact that reading is such a substantial part of my life is somewhat expected.
