What these ads are?
An advertisements show up everywhere and in different ways in our lives, whether in the form of newspapers, television commercials, radio, magazines, or billboards. What is the purpose of advertisements? Obviously, advertisements are designed to attract the attention of consumers and try to persuade them to buy products. However, advertisements have to be persuasive enough with certain emotions, feelings, and values to bring out the messages that they want to present. In this essay, I will focus on three different kinds of ads that can be found in magazines and at the internet: AAA, FedEx, and Gucci. I will analyze and evaluate each advertisement based on uniqueness, attractiveness, and creativity in order to decide the ability to persuade consumer to take action on the offering or not.
The first one is an ad about car battery service from AAA Texas. This advertisement can be split up into three parts: image, text, and information. On the top of the ad, the image shows a roadside assistance technician replacing a new battery for a car, which tells the audience that AAA provides this service since there is a logo of AAA on the battery case and a shirt that the roadside assistance person is wearing. In the middle of it, it has a line of text saying, “A NEW BATTERY, ON THE SPOT.” There is also another line of text under the previous text and saying, “THAT’S ROADSIDE ASSITANCE THAT REALLY ASSISTS.”, which tells the audience that once they need this service, the assistance will be there and the replacement will be done immediately. The bottom has listed other information such as what AAA battery service provides, including a phone number and website for more details. A sentence below all this information says, “…That’s the kind of value and peace of mind that comes with AAA membership.” In other words, the audience has to join the AAA membership
