What Was The Cause Of The Mexican American War

It seems like wars have been around forever because they have. Some things that cause wars are economic growth, territorial growth, and because of religion. Once wars are done treaties are signed. The Mexican American war is a war where the U.S provoke Mexico into war mainly for territorial growth which occurred when the U.S won the war. Many other things went into provoking Mexico to go to war. The U.S believed that Texas belonged to them so they tried taking over in wat, but were unable to. The Mexican government opened Texas to Euro Americans as long they obeyed the laws. As the number of Euro American grew in the Texas, they felt resentful when Mexico tried to enforce agreements. Basically they tried to take over Texas which Mexico did not like and Mexico order them out of their territory. December 1845 Texas became a state and Mexico broke off relationship with the U.S. President Polk ordered General Taylor to the Rio Grande with an army of 4,000 on March 28, 1946. With the presence of the army, Mexican soldiers saw it as act of provocation and attacked.
