The problem was that Mexico still saw them as its own, but Texas felt otherwise. Looking again at the document of Texas’ freedom, “General Santa Anna, has overturned the constitution of his country…” This proving they had an inadequate President to lead them, Santa Anna went against their countries main documents, and hurt Mexico’s residents. In this event he is pretty much making himself a dictator over the country. There was another time where the officials of Mexico wouldn’t even hear out deals that America had land, even though they bought the land for $15 million less later on. The fact they had no interest at all, even if it was a good deal was a bad mistake and caused an uprise in emotions. Also looking at Polk’s address to congress, calling for war it says, “...Mexico has passed the boundary of the United States, has invaded our territory, and shed American blood upon the American soil.” Showing that they made bad choices and Mexico’s government, knowing it was our land, crossed over and cause chaos. The Mexicans cause a lot of tension from just the problems they caused when it came to fighting. They, without any warning, attacked the Americans in controversial territory. Mexico claimed they attacked because they “thought” the U.S. was invading, but had no problem killing 16. If they hadn’t gone out and sent troops, a fight wouldn’t have broke out and no tensions would have rose. Also, if you examine what happened at the Alamo, around 200 Americans were brutally killed by the bloodthirsty Mexicans that attacked. Almost everyone there died, all at the hands of the Mexican soldiers. When all the violence was over at both places, the Americans were at a loss because they were attacked without a true reason.
