Germany and the Allied Powers ended World War I with The Treaty of Versailles. The Treaty of Versailles was horribly harsh to Germany because they had lost the war. Allies war damages were put upon Germany because they were supposed to take upon the responsibility of losing the war. Germany was required to pay a vast amount of the reparations. Germany’s economy was destroyed because of the treaty. The government was chaos and the people were starving.

The Germans were in need of someone to change their financial system and reestablish their countries gratification. Hitler gave them a dream. Hitler was named the "Fuhrer" also meaing leader, in 1934 and became an absolute ruler of Germany. Hitler held a grudge against the rules put on Germany by the Treaty of Versailles. During peace talks, Hitler began to rearm Germany. Hitler added Mussolini and Italy as an ally. Then Hitler tried to reinstall Germany to power by growing his domain. First, in 1939, he overpowered Austria. In 1939, when the League of Nations did nothing to stop him, Hitler became tough and decided to invade Czechoslovakia.
After World War 1, many nations in Europe didn’t want another war. After Italy and Germany invaded their neighbors, Britain and France wanted no wars and wanted peace throughout the continent. Britain and France tried to keep peace and pretend Hitler had power. They didn’t want to end his plans, but they wanted to keep him elated which would cause less problems. If France and Britain followed directions they wouldn’t be a war between the countries. Because the plan didn’t work, Hitler was unhappy and had a chance to make his army greater than
