What Would You Do If You Inherited Rm1 Million from a Distant Relative?
If I inherited RM1 million from a distant relative, then my life would take a dramatic turn from what it is now. I would adopt the lifestyle of the rich and famous. There are lots of things I would do with the money. Firstly, before I use the money at all, I would give away ten percent to charity. Ten percent of RM1 million works out to RM100,000. This is a lot of money to give away. It does not mean that I am a generous or saintly person. It simply means that when we get good luck, we must thank God by giving some money to charity. I would share the money among orphanages, homes for disadvantaged children, old folks homes and hospitals. Next, I would buy a house for my parents and give them some money. They are not rich people. A house of their own would give them security. It would make them happy. It would also show how much I love and respect them. I honour my parents because they work very hard to look after us. After that, I would deposit about RM200,000 in the bank for my future. I plan to run my own business one day. I am not very good in my studies. However, I love to work with my hands and I am good at repairing electrical goods. I plan to open an electrical shop selling household electrical products such as rice cookers, irons, air conditioners, washing machines, televisions, radios and hi-fi equipment. My shop would sell every product a household needs. Once I settle my future, I would go overseas. This has always been my ambition. I love travelling. I have always wanted to visit other countries and experience different cultures. I would travel to England, Spain, France and Greece. I would travel to the United States of America. I would hike in Thailand and then cross over to Cambodia to see Angkor Wat. When I have visited as many countries as I want, I would go back to England and train in a vocational college. I would learn how to repair machines. Then I would work there for a whole to gain as much experience as possible. All these plans

Paul Fussell once said, “All the pathos and irony of leaving one’s youth behind is thus implicit in every joyous moment of travel: one knows that the first joy can never be recovered, and the wise traveler learns not to repeat successes, but tries new places all the time.” Going around the world would be a fascinating goal for the future. Meeting new people and getting to grasp what the world is like . Traveling would be interesting to do in the future because first I can challenging myself, second the adventures, and third to appreciate life.…

Of course, if I had a million dollars, I would spend a lot of it on myself, hopefully not too selfishly, but first of all, half of what was left would be safely stored at a bank in Swiss for future use. After the money was stored, what I spent with the rest of it would be history. Perhaps I'd get a few houses in the tropical islands, a couple of new computers, laptops, and walk-in closets in each, advanced payment for the CDs I wished to own. I'd also to invest in a six-year trip around the world with a year for each continent and three more months in Antarctica, and loads of material things would satisfy me, but who knows what I'll have come up with by then. After I'd gotten what I wanted for the time being, I would give some of the remaining money to my family and relatives for them to split among themselves, and perhaps some of it on educational benefits for me. If I were older, though, I would certainly need to spend it on my family, on cars and…
