Postpartum depression (PPD) is a common mental issue with the global prevalence about 13% of women experienced depression after giving birth (O'Hara & Swain, 1996). However, the rate of PPD among women in Hong Kong is comparable with the global rate. It estimated that about 13% to 19% of women were affected (O'Hara & McCabe, 2013). Therefore, there are about one in every ten local women developed depression after giving birth. Women after delivery may wrestle with a variety of physiological stressors such as role transition, hormonal changes, challenges in infant care and family problems in life.
