When does genetic engineering become too much? Or does it?
I think genetic engineering became too much when they started doing it on human beings. In April of 2015, scientist came from all over the world to talk about genetic engineering on humans and the scientists came to an agreement that it was too risky. Later on, historians of science looked back several decades from today, and then the historians and scientists thought that it was acceptable to do genetic engineering on humans, even on babies and unborn babies. When it comes to living human being, that’s when I think it becomes too much. The reason why I think that is because what if it’s painful or something goes wrong and then they turn out to look like that rat with the ear growing on its back.
A governmental body was getting ready to hand out licenses for creating a particular kind of genetically engineered human. The governmental body were using a technique the US tried and was then banned 13 years ago. The changes of any embryo will be heredity, so the physical …show more content…
or mental characteristics will be passed on from one generation to another and then the altering genetic makeup of the offspring to come next. The ability to do some type of genetic engineering, like selective breeding, goes back to 40,000 years ago. Because of that we have a much calmer, more likeable version of the wolf. Alana Saarinen was a girl who had three biological parents. Only two of her parents contributed more than 99% of her genetic material and the third one provide the rest of it. She grew from a genetically engineered embryo and turned out to be a healthy adult.
Being genetically engineered could help you have a healthier life but it could also hurt or even kill you.
Scientists could help by manipulating your DNA and cure illnesses that can't be cured today and birth defects could even be eliminated if our doctors could change people's childrens DNA.You could also have really bad reaction to new things and create new or worse viruses. There are some really good things about genetic engineering and some really bad one like death. When it come to experimenting on human instead of other things, that's when i think it's just wrong. I'm not trying to be rude, but if anyone sees anything that isn't supposed to be on a human might be a little disturbing to them. Like if someone had a pig nose or a rabbit tail it might be cool and interesting to some people but not all of
them.
